Dear prospect buyers, AVOID THIS DEALERSHIP!

We purchased a certified pre-owned 2010 Lexus RX450h last May. A neighbor scratched the front bumper of our vehicle while exiting the garage and someone scratched the back bumper at the parking garage in the hospital (hit and run). Since this is a nice vehicle, we wanted to get these paint problems repaired. There is no visible structural damage to either bumper, since none of the damaged occurred at high speed. We got 4 (four) quotes so far, including one from Penske Auto Body (Penske Automotive is the owner company of Lexus of San Diego) and ALL of the sales reps at these FOUR locations explained that our CERTIFIED PRE-OWNED vehicle does NOT have original LEXUS bumpers. ALL FOUR locations quoted us between $1000 and $2500 PER BUMPER to have these issues fixed! They explained to us that they either have to order new bumpers or strip the paint and do a better paint job (the paint is peeling in large pieces). Now how do we know these are not original bumpers? Well, they are WHITE PLASTIC!!! Original Lexus & Toyota bumpers come in black plastic that has to be primed and painted to match the color of the vehicle. So either Lexus of San Diego decided to cut corners and make profit or they certified a vehicle that was brought in without original parts!! Being the nice people that we are we stopped by Lexus on San Diego yesterday to figure out what happened. The manager of the new vehicles location explained to us we need to find Rhett Saunders at the Pre-Owned site of the business. We tried to locate him, but he was not present. Instead we got to speak to Jim Buck, for the purpose of this review we'll call him a gentleman, but he behaved far from that. He was extremely rude, kept interrupting while we were trying to explain to us the facts that we were given, and at the end said this is our problem and we should fix out ourselves. JIM BUCK, we realize things happen and in your words "That's why we have insurance." But if you actually cared to listen and not interrupt us at every single sentence you would've heard the 2 issues we have - if Lexus of San Diego didn't certify a vehicle with FAKE bumpers, we wouldn't have to pay out of pocket another $2500 or more to repair our vehicle. And what we wanted to know in the first place is how Lexus of San Diego certifies a vehicle and claims to perform a 300 point inspection. DEAR MANAGEMENT, please be aware that this employee of yours treats your clients that invest in your business with absolute disrespect!!! In closure, stay away. I highly doubt we would be treated with respect and anyone will follow up, but dear prospect buyers, be aware that this dealership has costs us a lot, in financial aspect, in personal aspect and in emotional aspect. Spend your money somewhere else!!!

BUYERS BEWARE

Buyers beware! This dealership is "independently owned" so if you have a problem, you are stuck with them! Your complaints will go unanswered and you are basically screwed. The bad reviews are true, if you buy a car here, hopefully it goes well for you. Who wants to spend MORE MONEY on an attorney after you paid a lot of money for your car and you are stuck with the car and the dealership! They say they are owned by "Penske"? Well try calling the corporate office, they will confirm "independent dealership". If you take your car to another dealership, you will have to pay for it! It's true they DO LIE to you.

Dave was professional and courteous at all times. He was patient (I first test drove autos in 07/13, but didn't purchase until 12/13. Fairly straight forward pricing (one can always do better), but I returned to him because of his integrity.

OUTSTANDING SALES PERSON

I'm a first time owner of a new Lexus ISC250 convertible. I been to Lexus Carlsbad and receive only a cold response. Went to Escondido and receive even worse and looking at a BIG empty lot of no car to chose from. Luckily i went to Lexus San Diego and meet Artie, He is a no hassle, no pressure but a very knowledgeable and accommodating. we only spend lest than 1 hour and made a great deal with my new car. If your looking for a brand new car and don't want to deal with annoying sales dealer. visit Artie at Lexus San Diego you will not regret it. I save a great deal with my purchase.

Awesome experience!!!!

I must say, we shopped carlsbad, el cajon, and escondido and none of them gave us the service my wife got from our salesperson (Ash Kashani). He is very honest and very knowledgeable. My wife got the color and options she asked for. We are very pleased even thought I haven't had the pleasure of meeting Ash in person due to work but my wife hasn't stopped talking about how wonderful he was and how he handled the deal (headache free). He gave my wife his bottom price without going back and forth. We will recommend Ash to all of our family and friends. Thank you Ash!!

Lexus, not lease at this dealer.

We agreed on the sales price for my 2011 GX460 and I was ready to pay cash. But salesman engineered to believe that lease is the better deal. He pressured me to sign up for the lease and later I find out this is not a good deal. He mislead and lied lease figures. Also they forced me to buy paint sealer They at $800 and told me I can not buy SUV if I do not buy paint sealers. They have dishonest salesman only try to rip off customers. Lexus should train this dealership how to sell lease in honest way. Otherwise so many lease customers will be [violative content deleted] and hate Lexus.

Sales, or lack of

Lexus Kearny Mesa or San Diego Lexus is owned by Penske just like most of the auto dealers on the same street. Next door is Toyota of Kearny Mesa. I have been a customer of Toyota for 15 years and have been treated with the upmost respect at all times. I have owned 1 other Lexus over 4 years ago and the sales and service was 4 out of 5. Not anymore...I will make this short, I spent 3 hours with the internet sales mgr., and he could have cared less on meeting my needs or expectations. I left the dealership with the sales manager stating he would research and try to find the car and call me...NEVER received a call. After a week, I went to Toyota of Escondido and closed the deal with excellent service. They could have cared less.
