Great Online Salesman

by robosama on 09/06/2012

Purchased a Nissan Versa for my daughter here. We live in AZ and she was in Goleta with an unreliable car. We were going to fly out and look for a new or used car but decided since airfares were high that we'd give it a shot at buying online. The whole process went well (much better than being at a dealership). As it turned out it was more cost effective to purchase a end of model year new Versa than a used vehicle. We sent out daughter to look at the car and test drive it while they assessed her trade in. Everything went great and took about 5 hours, all paperwork done, and she left with the new car. Salesman Abel Sanchez was excellent.

Sales over integrity

by kstar on 04/03/2011

You know how car dealerships have the nice sales staff up front (the good guys) who work with you, and they talk to the invisible "Man behind the glass curtain, the boss" (the bad guy) that you never yourself get to deal with? Well, I have absolutely no complaints about the sales staff, they were fine. However, major concerns about their boss, their "higher up" behind the glass door. Looking at a used car (advertised as having no major mechanical problems and passed a smog test) our mechanic noticed a small emissions leak and broken motor mounts. The engine would bounce several inches up and down when put in reverse, an obvious major mechanical problem. My husband found that the "master financer" behind the glass was completely unwilling to discount the vehicle for having disabled motor mounts and was sticking to their price. They gave no reason for refusing to discount the vehicle for such a clear repair need. They said something like that since the car had a lot of miles, that's what you would expect and it's not immediately dangerous like an emissions leak (which to their credit they were willing to repair). Still, I don't think their mechanics should have missed this (how careful *was* their 150 point inspection?), and I do think the financer should have been willing to discount for the estimated $800 worth of motor mount repairs the car would need. My husband left them asking if they were planning to sell it to someone else without disclosing the problem, and they did not deny it. It seems they knew they could make the sale by misrepresenting the facts. I have to say, I was very surprised, because I would think an established dealership like Santa Barbara Nissan might actually care about its reputation for integrity. As I said, this review is not a reflection of the floor sales staff, just their financial manager.

I love Santa Barbara Nissan

by sunny124 on 04/03/2010

Last week I purchased a new 370z roadster from Santa Barbara Nissan. I absolutely love my new convertible. I would highly recommend this dealership. The customer service was excellent and the whole buying process was straightforward and non-aggressive. The paperwork process took less than 10 minutes and I was on the road in my beautiful car.

RUN~1

by carguy2011 on 03/25/2010

The sales guys are fine, but look out for the finance guy, he is [violative content deleted]! Dont let him fail to put down any rebates or switch your bank that you are buying through. This [violative content deleted] said, that there is no rebate on my car, despite the big sign in the office $1000 rebate!. (We were not leasing). Ultimately said "oh your car does qualify". This dude is the [violative content deleted], look out!!
