Hello Host!! Have I got a deal?: by rxke on Sun Feb 18 12:31:52 PST 2007; HI I have been negotiating for a BMW328XI with the premium package, automatic, heated seats, and metallic paint. The MSRP is $40395 and the invoice is $37,260. The sales price is $38,440 ($37,260 + $480 dealer advertising and training + $700 dealer profit.)with no money down. Additionally there is a bank fee of $625, a doc fee of $45, an inspection sticker $10, and a tire tax of $10. ($1240 to be paid separate from the lease). For 36 months and 15K per year I got a lease payment of $545 per month which includes NY tax for Westchester (7.38%). My questions are: 1. Is the $480 advertising and training fee negotiable? Do I really have to pay it? 2. Is the $700 over invoice a fair price? 3. When I did the lease calculation I came up with $538.70 but the sales person said that I did not factor in that there is interest on the tax that I am paying over the lease period and that is why my calculation was not accurate(My calculation: RV $24,640.95 + Neg price minus RV over 36 months =$381.92 + Neg Price + RV taimes .00190 = $119.76 + NY tax $37.02 =$538.70). Is that a standard practice or B.S.? 4. I am returning a BMW 325XI and will have to pay a disposition fee of $350. If I lease another BMW can I have that fee waived? Does it make a difference if I get the new car from the original dealer I got it from or another dealer in terms of not paying the disposition fee? I APPRECIATE ANY HELP YOU CAN GIVE ME. THANKS

Re: URGENT: 2007 328i Coupe lease [bmw330]: by edrn on Wed Feb 07 17:10:46 PST 2007; First, as someone who was burned on 2 previous BMW lease deals, please please get yourself the LEASE KIT as offered by www.leaseguide.com/leasekit It's well worth the $ spent.Never pay MSRP. Never put $$ down, it's like throwing money away, you never get it back. In MD, you will pay taxes on the full purchase price of the car. If you decide to buy the car at the end of the lease, you DO NOT have to pay taxes again. This is a recent change over the past 3 years. 10K miles are not alot of miles for a car. You really have to keep track of your driving habits. I don't know if you have any earlier posts, so I'm just going with my recent experience. Please know the MF and don't let the dealer tell you it's different. I currently lease a 2003 330XI, lease expires this month. I really educated myself with the help of everyone here at Edmonds.com :) In the long run, I've opted to keep my car, buy the extended warranty, save myself over $200.00 a month. At the end of my purchase: I'll still own a great car or I may decide to sell it myself. WIN WIN FOR ME. Good Luck!

BUT THERE IS ONE MAJOR PROBLEM (that I had). I went to a dealer in South Florida today to lease a 2007 328i Sports Wagon with Premium Package, Premium Sound and Xenon headlights in Dark Green Metallic, with manual transmission, terra leather and dark burlwood trim. I offered $800 over European Delivery (ED) Invoice, which the dealer was glad to accept. My offer was for $36,050 with the options mentioned above, which includes the destination charge and "training fee." I was not going to capitalize the bank fee or sales taxes, which are $625 and 6.5%, respectively, in my area. When it came to the finance guy, though, I offered to "buy down" the lease with 7-times the security deposit to get the ultra-low Money Factor of .00061, and they thought I was insane. They wouldn't even do the "special lease" MF of .0011 mentioned in the post I am replying to. The "rack rate" MF on this model from BMW Finance on a 36-month lease at 15K miles/yr. is .00225 with a 60% Residual Value ont the ED MSRP of $38,305. With the "buy down" of 7 times the base security deposit, they agreed to a MF of .00176. All said, the deal was at approximately $498 a month. I think this included sales tax, but I am not sure because I wasn't able to leave the dealership with the quote. I walked out of the dealership and was disappointed that I couldn't get the .00061 MF, so I am looking to work with a dealer that can do ED and perhaps get a better lease MF than what I was offered today. PLEASE CONTACT ME or post here if you know any dealers that can do this European Delivery at a better rate. I would really appreciate any help or feedback!

Need help on whether I am being railroaded with hidden costs. From reading your postings I think that my MF is the highest I seen in reading (these past few minutes)...and I am deeply concerned. I have been going back and forth between 2 dealerships (AL and GA). I am military and live in Georgia with access to my permanent Alabama addy for a home of record. Sale tax in GA is 7% and AL 4%... After playing a little hard ball with both dealers my local dealer in Albany. He contacts me after two days ...with the following for a 328i, w/ prem package, heated front seats: MSRP: 36,454 Sales price: 34,700 Trade-in Value for 2003 4 x4 Nissan Pathfinder SE: 12,800 Balance due on Pathfinder: $15,777 So the neg equity:$ 2,977 BMW 328i lease is 36 mo/15,000 miles Residual:61% MF:.00247 or .00274 (can't remember which) DP:4500 (includes tax, tag, title, fees, of which I think 2500 cap red, 350 security,). Payment comes to roughly $525 per month. Apologize for not having the exacts...I am going off a quote that I left on my desk at work. I was not aware that this site existed!
