WOW! Are you serious? A few hundred bucks under invoice for a Q5 Premium Plus? That is amazing!!! I wished that I could get those prices around Cleveland, OH! We are nowhere close to that around here! Sigh...

Re: Bought Q5 [dallaspatent] by ostrich001 on Mon Jan 25 18:38:15 PST 2010

Well, so I guess I was not alone then! Of the 4 Audi dealerships here in Cleveland, OH, only ONE did not ignore me, and that's the one in Lake County. The other ones were, I guess, selling too many Q5's to even notice my well-qualified wallet and super credit history! Maybe there isn't really a recession, after all! LOL! Even if the Q5 is a hot car now, there is no need to treat your customers like that. That is certainly one thing that the Lexus dealerships do so much better - though their RX is selling several times the volume of the Q5, when I went to their showroom, the very professional and well-dressed salesperson treated me with respect and enthusiasm. If only I had enjoyed the marshmallow ride of the RX.... I think it's hilarious how Audi dealers act like this is the hottest car of the century. It's only selling about 1500 per month anyway. It's nothing to write home about, but then I guess it's "hot" because it's in short supply here by design. Audi is a luxury brand but sadly, it does not have the luxury dealerships to match.

Re: Good Deal in your Opinion? [basquiat2010] by ostrich001 on Tue Jan 05 18:19:27 PST 2010

basquiat2010, I am so glad that you posted your experience here - thanks for sharing! I have not purchased my Q5 yet (hopefully I will!). I am in the Cleveland, OH, area and there are 4 Audi dealerships around town. Honestly I can only work with ONE of them. The largest one with the most sales is simply arrogant, to say the least. They have an obnoxious sales staff that do not follow up, do not respond to internet inquiries, and they just don't seem to care about my business. The one on the west side is even WORSE. Despite complaining to their sales manager that no one ever responded to my internet inquiry, they still did not get in touch with me. Forget about it! Then the one south of Cleveland is plain SLEAZY. They have a very poor reputation and the interaction by e-mail has been poor. They also use lots of mass/spam e-mails too, so once you get on their mailing list, then you are cursed forever! Is that really how they should treat their $50K vehicle customer? Also, they sell Mazda and Subaru too. There is nothing wrong with these brands, but they are just not premium. Why would Audi allow a non-premium brand dealer sell their cars? Isn't that silly? The only dealer that I can work with is the one on the far east side. Though it's smaller and the showroom is cramped and not very well designed/decorated, the sales manager and the sales person have been very nice and I think they are the only Audi dealer here that is worth my patronage. On the other hand, when I went to the Lexus dealer, I was treated like a king. The staff were well-dressed and professional. No wonder why they do so well, despite the fact that they sell such boring cars! LOL! The Infiniti dealerships are very stylish but the staff people are just so so. The Mercedes Benz staff are also noticeably better than the average Audi dealership staff too. P.S. What a great deal you got for your Q5! I wish I could get such a deal around here!!! How did you manage?

Just FYI in Cleveland by djdj on Sat Nov 01 18:28:39 PDT 2008

Today I testdrove (for the 2nd time) a 2009 A4 2.0. I have a 2003 A4, so I think the salesman is getting his hopes up. For a Premium Plus with wood (sticker $38.4K) he offered $37,182, 3.2% off of MSRP and 3.9% over Edmunds' cost. When he asked what I thought, I told him I wasn't convinced the A4 was worth $2,200 more than the new Acura TL. He said Audi dealers didn't have that much room to move on price but his sales manager wasn't going to lose a deal over another $500 off. I have a FrontTrak/CVT now; he did say he has no idea when they would get any 2009 CVT's in.

What a nice car!! by djdj on Sat Sep 20 13:13:00 PDT 2008

The dealer where I get my 2003 A4 1.8 FrontTrak serviced was having an introductory show today for the new A4. Nothing but A4's in the showroom and three out front for test drives. I test drove the 2.0 sedan. I loved the way it drove, rode and handled. But in showroom, they had the Avant. Even better in person than the photos. I don't need a wagon but I think it looks great. I didn't price shop because I'm not buying until January when my daughter gets her license and I'll let her drive the 2003. We have 4 Audi dealers around Cleveland. Should be interesting to see if any are doing deals once the novelty has worn off. Also, I want to drive the new TL before I decide. Has anyone else checked out the Avant?
