After Purchasing
by 04/20/2020
onI worked with a guy name Larry Greenhill . This guy worked my last nerve with constant calls. Also he promised great things and could not hold up to them , as well promised a lower APR than my current other vehicle which is 21% Larry managed to get me a APR of 23% on a new . Also I have and had at the time a vehicle to trade, which Larry never looked at twice and didn’t attempt to value it at all ( 09 Toyota Venza) . However I did want a new car and made a purchase but that was my own choice.

onMy experience at jim burke Hyundai was phenomenal. My sales person was Ashley. She is an absolute positive person. She's very knowledgeable about the product and was very informative in helping me with my decision. I absolutely love my new vehicle thanks to her. If you're buying a Hyundai not only go to Jim Burke ,but ask for Ashley as well. She is very in-depth when it comes the details of the product she is selling.

Damaged New Car at Delivery - No Compensation
by 02/13/2012
on After emphasizing on the phone (I live in Florida) that I didnt want any surprises on my long distance new car purchase, I asked how many miles the new car had on the odometer. After my salesperson checked on this I was told that the car had 235 miles on it. This concerned me quite a bit considering that a lot can happen to a car in 235 miles. I was assured multiple times that the car was perfect in every way and had been checked over multiple times personally by the salesman to ensure that, which I do believe happened. After flying from Orlando to Alabama to pick up the car, I immediately observed a small scratch completely through the paint, about 1 inch in length with a very slight dent under it rear door on the drivers side. After I brought the damage to the salesman's attention, he assured me that they would buff out the problem. Since the scratch was through the paint finish, buffing did not fix the paint or the slight dent behind it. This was upsetting to me considering I was spending almost $27000 (total including tax) on a new car and was promised a perfect car. I was told that nothing else could be done to resolve the problem. I asked if Jim Burke Hyundai had a crew that deals with small damage/dents. The salesman indicated yes. I asked him to have them check out the damage and see if they could fix it versus the detailing crew. While we waited, he took the car to the dent team to check it out. Upon return, I didnt see any improvement. I was told that there was nothing else that could be done. At this point, I had to decide whether or not to walk away from the car. I asked if the salesman was willing to provide any kind of compensation to offset the car damage. He said that there was nothing he could do, and that Jim Burke was already losing a lot of money on the car which he had already mentioned a few times previously. It was left to me to decide whether I should accept the car as is, or walk away and find a way back to Orlando for my daughter and I. The whole reason I traveled with my daughter to Alabama was to get the specific color of Tucson (Aurora Blue) that was not available in Florida. In the end, I decided to go forward with signing the paperwork and accepting the car. I reiterated to the salesman that, regardless of how much the dealer was or wasnt making/losing, the salesman had made me a promise for a perfect car with no damage at a specific price, and was not able to meet that promise. Immediately after getting the car to Florida on the first warm day, we found that the air conditioner did not work and blow cold air as it should. I made an appointment with a local Orlando Hyundai dealer to get the a/c looked at. The service technician checked the records on the car and found that that a/c had been serviced at 200 miles by Jim Burke Hyundai 35 miles before I picked it up. I spent several hours on a Saturday at the service location, and they were not able to find the leak. They said it will likely fail again and I will very need to go back again very soon. They put special dye in the a/c system so that when I come back they will be able to hopefully find the leak. Lastly, on the phone during discussions about purchasing the car, I was assured that putting a down payment of $5000.00 on the car would lower the total amount taxable on the purchase. When I met with the finance manager to finalize the paperwork he made it clear that a down payment doesnt lower the taxable price only a trade-in would do that. This was annoying considering I put a large sum of cash down ($5000) based on the guidance I received.

Add ons to pricing.
by 02/20/2011
onThe salesman seemed nice and helpful at first. When I called back to inquire about pricing, there was an added almost 600.00 registration, doc fee added on to a pre negotiated price. This is pretty much all fluff. Many dealerships charge a 25-100.00 doc/title fee, which is reasonable. They refused to waive it and I terminated my discussions with this dealership. I suspect it had something to do with the car I wanted not being in stock. Maybe they could have said call back in a few months when we have more supply and are willing to deal. If they call me back, I am not interested in talking to them. Some of their cars are apparently selling very well right now, but dealerships should be careful not to get to greedy because of it. Things can change very quickly.
