See www.cars.gov for the official details of the program and for a list of participating dealerships.

A dealership must enroll in the program to participate, so check with your local dealers to verify their enrollment. The purchase price of your new vehicle will be reduced by the amount fo the credit available under the program. You do not need to enroll in or sign up for the program. Participating dealerships will submit all the necessary paperwork to obtain reimbursement for the credit. You will receive the Cash for Clunkers credit instead of the normal dealer trade-in amount. Only a new vehicle purchase, or lease for five years, qualifies under the program.

Please note that the True Market Value® vehicle value displayed may be less or more than you may obtain from a dealer, or may be less than the amount you may obtain in a private party sale. In addition, the condition of your vehicle and the number of miles it has been driven will affect your vehicle's value.

Combined Fuel Economy is the average combined number of miles a vehicle is able to travel using one gallon of fuel according to EPA simulated laboratory tests that consist of 45% highway and 55% city driving conditions.

†† Credit estimates depend on the vehicle category of your trade-in, the vehicle category of the new vehicle being purchased and the combined fuel economy improvement between your trade-in and your new purchase vehicle. The combined fuel economy mpg displayed for your new purchase vehicle is for the new vehicle's base model mpg without options. Optional vehicle configurations may change the new vehicle's program eligibility due to changes to its combined fuel economy mpg.

††† Category 3 Trucks are very large pickup trucks with a cargo bed of 72 inches or more in length, SUVs and vans with a GVWR greater than 8,500 pounds and less than 10,000 pounds.
