Better than expected

When we purchased the XC90, we did not plan on moving and having to maintain 2 households 300 miles apart. We have already put 24k miles on our XC90 and have not had one problem. The fuel economy has been wonderful! Better than expected. Our navigation system has been a life saver in our new city. With 3 boys. We needed a comfortable and safe ride. This car has fit the bill.

Don't listen to the experts

When I read the reviews I was leary about the power of this vehicle. What they don't mention is that if you live at a high elevation where horse power suffers, the turbo charged engine is huge plus as you don't lose any horsepower. Also I have been averaging over 18 MPG in the mountains. Sure beats my Yukon getting around 13.

After shopping and researching for a month we settled on the xc90 (rx330 was second choice). We love the vehicle. The luxurious interior and the stylish exterior. Gas MPG has been spot on with estimates (18/23). We do 80% city and 20% hwy thus far and have been averaging 20.2 mpg (self calculations). Am anxious to go on a substantial hwy drive as mpg will definitely be in the 23 range which is not bad considering the weight of the vehicle. If you are concerned about the power of the base engine don't be (unless you buy an SUV to go from 0-60 in under 8 seconds). The power has been more than adequate.

I just picked up an 05 T6 with 40k miles from auction. The car is nearly flawless and appears to run beautifully. I found out I'm the 2nd owner, and the car has been meticulously maintained by a local Volvo dealer. My concern is that it's had 2 transmissions replaced, the latest 18 months ago along with the radiator. Not sure if I need to purchase a warantee. Dealers told me the problem is most likely cured, but if anyone has a comment, I'm all ears as I'm a bit concerned.

Not bad gas milage considering the weight of vehicle. Love the safety features and the interior room. Drives like my Volvo S80 and is very well equipped
