The 2025 Volvo V60 Cross Country is a compact wagon with more ground clearance than a standard V60, which helps it be a modest competitor to more rugged SUVs and other tall wagons. It's taller and less capable on road than the lower and sportier standard V60, but what it sacrifices in road manners it makes up for in ride comfort and dirt-road capability. It comes standard with all-wheel drive.

Audi's A4 Allroad is the V60 Cross Country's most obvious and direct competitor. It shares the V60's Cross Country's size and utility, comes standard with all-wheel drive, and has a similar engine output and fuel economy. There aren't any other small lifted luxury wagons, but if you want similar capability for less money have a look at Subaru's Outback.

For 2025, Volvo made no real changes to the V60 Cross Country. In fact, all that's been amended on this tall wagon is the name of the top trim, which changed from Ultimate to Ultra. We like the V60's combination of high utility, solid build quality, and luxury finishes and design. We also like the Google-based infotainment system for its ease of use. And the interior in this wagon just looks and feels good. There's a 360-degree camera as well as front and rear parking sensors, which aren't features you'll find as standard on every car in this price range.
