2004 Volvo S60 R R 4dr Sedan AWD (2.5L 5cyl Turbo 6M)

Review

I love this car. Awesome value. Great
blend of a high performance sedan and
family truckster. Get the manual
tranny. The car is awesome in the snow
but do get some snow tires. This car
will run with Audi/BMW/MB for less $.
I love the variable suspension. Unlike
an M3, it won't shake your teeth loose
in daily commuting. I love the subtle
exterior styling. I have had problems
with brake squeal and have already had
new brake pads (free). I have scuffed
3/4 of the rims at drive throughs. The
radio is a bit too complex to operate.
The clutch is a bit springy and engages
a bit too high. It took a few weeks
before I got used to the clutch.

Best Features

Seats are awesome and extremely comfortable on long drives. Car is unique compared with the ubiquetous BMW/Audi/MB. Variable suspension. Please get the manual transmission. Snow tires a must in Midwest.

Worst Features

Turning radius is horrible. 6 CD player rather than 4 like my old Acura. Steering is vague at low speeds-less power assist at low speeds. Can't get cell phone service for the on-call phone. (No AT&T service in Champaign) Engine sound is not as lovely as an M3 or MB AMG.

Review

I was looking for a performance sedan
that can give me the thrill of high
performance sport car, the safety of a
family sedan and the advantage to
drive it all seasons. I test
drove the Audi A4 3.0 Quattro, Jaguar
X & S Type, Infiniti G35x, Lexus IS300
and BMW 330XI. I didn’t have the
opportunity to test drive the S60R
however; I read all reviews on this
vehicle and decided to take the chance
on it. I brought the vehicle thru
military sales and believe me; waiting
for it was worth it. Excellent AWD
handling, adjustable suspension, 6
speed, 300HP, comfortable seats,
safety and good dry and wet road
performance.

Best Features

AWD, 300HP, adjustable suspension, great acceleration, smooth ride, seats, leather, DSTC, stereo system, blue metallic guage & brembo brakes. I love this car. The best thing about it, I don't think everyone knows the true preformance of this car until they see my tail light. LOL

Worst Features

Poor turn in radius, poor gas mileage, however who cares when your're kicking another cars butt on the highway. Would like to see auto lock once the car is in motion. Brakes system squeak a lot. Brembo brakes system with vent/drills rotors would look better.

What can we say, we love our car! We
would recommend this car to anyone who
loves to drive and demands quality.

Best Features

Atacama leather, driver dials, performance, everything!!

Worst Features

Volvo needs to come out w/an option for 19 inch wheels.

Review

Build quality is much better than the
01 model I had sold. The power feels
great and the clutch is not as bad as I
have read in the car magazines. The
engine feels smooth to me up and the
car is deceptively fast...was touching
100 while passing a row of trucks
without realizing it. The ride in sport
mode is also better than I expected.
Had the opportunity to run with (blow
by) a 330i with sport package...looking
forward to the snow with all-season
tires!

Best Features

Smooth 6-speed, active suspension, 300HP/295TQ, exterior/interior styling (esp. the gauges), front seats, AWD, stereo system, decent gas mileage, Homelink & SAFETY(it's a Volvo!)

Worst Features

Back seat space is cramped, poor rear view with rear headrests up, needs headlight protectors (chips on the first outing) and the turning radius is wide for the country roads in our area.

Review

Have really enjoyed the experience of
owning this vehicle. Excellent power,
no torque steer, AWD stability when
pushed in corners, great sound system,
etc. The overall "experience" has
been excellent. I've put a lot more
miles on this car than I expected.

Best Features

Seat are VERY comfortable, and the interior is well laid out. Audio system. AWD. Engine is strong. Manual transmission is precise.

Worst Features

4C needs to be settled down some. Should be fixed for '05. Steering could be sharpened up. Got great HP, but we could always use more! :-)
