Used 1995 Volvo 850 Sedan Consumer Reviews
Unsexy but reliable
I received this car as a family hand me down. It is unquestionably the most well-built reliable car I've ever owned. Maintenance is expensive - especially for big ticket items - but in the 5 years and 45,000 miles I've owned it I've put less than $3000 in repairs into it. It's not fast or flashy and I'd like a cooler looking car but I have a hard time justifying a new car when this one keeps on running strong.
Pretty Good Car
This car is pretty decent. It is incredibly fun to drive on the highway because of the turbo engine. It has an enormous trunk which is a bonus. However, when i purchased it in November of 2008, I had to replace the odometer, engine mount, battery, front sway bar link arms, and strut mounts. Overall this is a good (not great) car for someone who would like to drive a pretty reliable carfor under $4,000.00
no more volvo's
Motor, Trans great...little things a big problem. Broken power seat back, broken glove box lock, worn cruise control wire, recirculate air broken twice, cup holders, center arm rest broken, rear door welds broken, mud flaps broken, broken horn contacts (constant honk), check engine light stuck on (dealer couldn't reset..."recommend $600 new electronics"...forget it guys!) Radio doesn't even work right("We can fix that for $400") But it is safe!!!!
Happy and over 100K
Purchased the vehicle new in 95' loveing it ever since. Currently 120K + miles on it and she is rinning fine. Leather seats starting to wear a bit and some minor ac problems but all in all it is the best vehicle I have ever owned. I hope to drive it until 200K then get a new Volvo(the XC 90 looks nice).
Marions Review
This has been a great car for me and my family. There have been very few mechanical problems. This car still gets looks from people as we drive down the road. You definitely have a great sense of security in the Volvo.
