Used 2011 Volkswagen Touareg Consumer Reviews
Dashboard lights up like a Christmas tree!
The electronics in this vehicle need a lot of attention.
Sold back my TDI to VW and bought this Terd
Not sure where to start. I sold back my 2012 Touareg TDI to Volkswagen because the amount they were offering me for the recall was a Street Equity call. Due to the fact that my wife love the “Sunroof”, I found my current 2011 supercharged hybrid Touareg two states away so of course I went and got it for her. Shame on me for not diving deep enough into the facts of this platform! Volts wagon badging with Audi drivetrain and it seems absolutely no one knows how to work on it! I’ve taken it to Volkswagen dealers and been told to take it to Audi and vice versa. I have even called Volkswagen customer support due to the fact that the hybrid engine fault code comes on And shuts down pretty much immediately which in one instance a few months ago left my wife in the middle of a 3 lane Highway after making a turn dead in the water! Volkswagen told me to take it to my nearest dealer which I did and had before but no one there knew how to work on it. In a roundabout way I was pretty much told not to bring it back to Reeves imports which is now called something else I think Fitzgerald auto Mall in Tampa not to bring it back! I’ve been told just to sell it but, I can’t knowingly sell or trade this vehicle Even with full disclosure on the electronic issues I’ve had for a few years that Volkswagen will not assist with at all! It is sad because my wife drives this vehicle every day with my children and she is so gun shy of pulling out in the traffic anticipating this thing stalling and killing them all. I must say that I’m very disappointed in Volkswagen customer service and I’ve even asked for a regional service manager to reach out to me which never happened. At this point, I tell everyone that will listen to never ever ever buy a Volkswagen product! This could have been very well avoided if I could’ve got some technical support through Volkswagen service management but all I’ve heard is crickets! so, I’m stuck with this vehicle because I can’t knowingly sell it but, I have to pray that my wife and children don’t get seriously injured or perish from the faulty electronics in this vehicle! How do you spell avoided I would have my name on the list for the new Volkswagen scout EV that’s coming out at some point. I just wonder if the upper management Volkswagen would let their wife and children ride in a vehicle like this? As of right now, the airbags are in op, steering is throwing a code, engine, transmission and a list of other things that are not as important as what I’ve listed I guess. Oh, ABS is always out too! I pray that someone sees this that can help! I also hope that Edmonds decides to post it Due to its negative Contant as of now. I’m going to list the VIN just in case someone sees us that can put themselves in my shoes! WVGFG9BP5BD004329 God Bless, Mike [contact info removed]

been 'lookin for a year
11/7/10 - For the last three months I have been test driving every mid size SUV from Toyota to Porsche. I test drove the new Touareg last Thursday and drove it home that afternoon! It's like you know when it's " right ".... and it was. It's everything that I have been looking for and more. Luxurious appointments, comfortable, and a perfect vehicle for the mountains and city driving. I bought the Lux TDI in Gallapogos Gray with black interior. It's awesome.

I only have 600 miles on the vehicle and all of it has been in town. I plan to update this as I get more miles. No opinion on mileage, road noise, ride on long trips, reliability, service, and handling in the snow, Yet. I have ordered the towing package but it hasn't come in yet. I don't use the phone bluetooth.
2011 Touareg Lux White/Saddle Brown
This is my first VW and I am somewhat satisfied, but feel like the car is constantly down shifting when you are driving at a slower speed. It kind of feels like when you down shift too quickly in a five speed. It kind of jerks when it does it. Not sure if its just an issue with the individual car or something I need to get use to. The other very annoying and disappointing feature is for a $49,000 suv, I am shocked that keyless entry and push button start are not a standard feature. Very disappointing to say the least. Otherwise, it's a beautiful, sleek, comfortable, sturdy and reliable suv.
