2007 Volkswagen Passat 2.0T Wolfsburg Edition 4dr Sedan (2.0L 4cyl Turbo 6A)

My 7th Passat, and 3rd of this "B6" series. I've had NO reliability issues with any. The 2007 Wolfsburg Editions are late model year production with packaged goodies including 2008 wheel style; they appear identical to a 2008 Komfort model. I paid just over $24,800--some $3K off sticker. You can't get this much European car for the money anywhere else. Make no mistake--unlike the Audi A4, this is NOT a sports sedan. Suspension settings and steering effort have been softened and seats "Americanized." However, it's a roomy family sedan with Euro flair and quality. Skip the thirsty VR6--the 2.0t engine is enough; it's happy with the 6 spd Aisin automatic, and plenty powerful off the line.

Best Features

The interiors, even in vinyl form, are way above the class average, and nicely done. The 2.0t engine is very powerful with little turbo lag that plagued the 1.8t. There are APR chip kits that give VR6 power with much better fuel economy. Great hwy mpg but city mpg isn't if you keep your foot down!

Worst Features

Premium fuel is a must. Synthetic Oil consumption can be high, regardless of what VW calls "normal." Proper break in to seat oil control rings is essential! Maintenance now included for 36k on 2009 models; but bumper to bumper warranty is reduced from 4/50K to 3/36K--of real concern for VW owners!!
