have read a lot about the ignition coil
failures but I haven't had a problem
yet. Sure wish they would recall all
the defective lots though, would sure
be PO'ed to be stuck by the side of the
road.

Best Features

Worst Features

Must address reliability issues!!! Won't buy another VW until they get their problems fixed.

Review

Needed a new Ignition Coil, car
started rattling one day called and
brought the car in. Had to wait 3
weeks for the part. Couldn't drive
the car without the part... it was a
few days shy of the Lemon Law. Now
the lights are going out on the
dashboard. A/C smells after driving
long distances. Car rattles when the
engine starts, takes a while for the
engine to sound right.

Best Features

I do like the Auto windows, love how it handles on the road. Great stereo system, great sound. Enjoy the room with the fold down rear- seats.

Worst Features

More leg support (longer seats) they make these seats for people that are 4 feet tall. More positioning on the driver seat for comfort on distance drives.

Review

When we went shopping for a car, we
were looking for a car with
personality. We looked at the Accord,
Camry, the A4, and the Passat. The
Accord and the Camry were quickly
dismissed for being so passion-less.
Tough call between the Passat and A4,
but we took the Passat and pocketed
some extra cash. We continue to love
the looks and ride of this vehicle
after a month of use. Great car!!!

Best Features

ride, turbo pickup, moonroof, quirky personality. this car has personality!

Worst Features

defroster. doesn't seem to have the power to defrost the whole front mirror.

2002 Volkswagen Passat Sedan GLX 4Motion AWD 4dr Sedan (2.8L 6cyl 5A)

Review

I've driven many cars over the last 40
years including BMWs and Volvos. The
Volkswagen Passat GLX V6 4Motion is
the best car I've ever driven
extensively. The 4Motion adds
substantially to the ride, stability
and handling of the car. It corners
better than full blown sports race
cars of 25 years ago. At 80 miles an
hour it is also the quietest car I've
ever had. Seat configuration and
support is so good that an eight or
nine hour drive is comfortably doable.
The additional winter capability of
the all wheel drive is icing on the
cake.

Best Features

4Motion.

Worst Features

Include a compass in the standard instrumentation.

2002 Volkswagen Passat Sedan GLX 4dr Sedan (2.8L 6cyl 5M)

Review

This car is a great example of a
combination between safety,
reliability, and sportiness. The price
tag is a little heavy but this is
better than anything Japan or Detroit
could dish out.

Best Features

The auto a/c and Tiptronic transmission re the best parts of this car. Not to mention the power evrything standard.

Worst Features

Could we make the all wheel drive a little more affordable so I could buy it?
