2003 Volkswagen New Beetle GLS TDI 2dr Hatchback (1.9L 4cyl Turbodiesel 4A)

VW pulls another "Rabbit" out of the
hat. I am 6-3, and fit this car like
it was made just for me. I didn't buy
it for performance, thrills, and such,
but it's simply amazing what a 90 HP
engine prodcuing 155 ft-lbs of torque
can do. The creature comforts for the
GLS level are well done, the sunroof
is in the right place, the
thoughtfullness and operation of the
controls are, well, so German! And
that's a compliment. Good drive-
ability, outstanding, frugal economy,
and reminds me an awful lot of
the "real" bugs we loved so much in
the 60's and 70's. I wouldn't want to
go back there, this is a superiour car

Best Features

sunroof placement and operation, multi- mode, good job. Diesel engine, adaptive auto trans. Drives like a go- kart 8-) Great dealership, BTW. Thank you.

Worst Features

temp gauge for diesel, please. slight wind noise (70+mph) CD player, please. otherwise, there's nothing else broken, please don't fix it.
