Although there are some quarks with
this car, things that are mostly
tolerable, I learned the hard way about
how truely safe this car is. I was in a
head on collision at 50mph, I walked
away with some injuries, but I walked
away. Fortunately for me I made the
right decision when choosing this car,
many in the same price range are not
nearly as safe, and I would not be here
I had an auto very zippy, fun for long
make the new style as dependable as the
old style, so that I can go buy one!
Bought 04/2003 @ 86000mi for $4200.
Now i'm at 101000mi and have repair
bills over $3500. So far i've changed:
exhaust, timing chain, tires, brakes &
roders (i'm up for new brakes AGAIN).
Transmission has about a month left.
Stalls for no reason, especially in the
rain. On cold days the key won't go in
the door no matter how much WD40 i
have. Check Engine light is on EVERY
TIME I DRIVE THE CAR. Now my oil light
is blinking and making that beep noise
that i swear is werse than chinese
water torture. Thank goodness my radio
goes loud enough to cover it. Every
machanic is baffled.
heat gets scorching hot (but i'm sure
it's broken somehow)
I love driving my Jetta. It handles
really well and has been a great car
for myself and my family. We have put
over 100,000 miles on it and have had
no major problems. It handles
excellent in the snow. It's taken us
all over the West coast and even
Mexico. You'll love yors too.
Able to handle higher altitudes with
out loosing power. It's reliability is
my favorite, also.
Needs more interior compartments.
Better cup holders. longer sun visors.
