Used 2010 Volkswagen Golf Consumer Reviews
2010 Golf TDi a joy to drive
There are 1600 miles on my new Golf and my wife is getting tired of hearing me say "I love my Golf". I look forward to driving the Golf, the comfortable interior, excellent handling and lots of low end grunt make it a joy to motor in. I sold an Infiniti G35 sedan that I owned for five years and bought the Golf. Haven't regretted it at all. Handles almost as well as the G35 and nearly matches it in torque but gets an average of 40 mpg while doing it.
"it is so choice" the sausage king
For starters, the bar started very high coming from a Z but I've been looking forward to this car for quite some time. Being one of only 2 Golf TDIs available in the Northeast and completely lucking out in my timing, I thoroughly enjoy my wildly variable driving conditions for three months now and I highly recommend the TDI! Back and forth and all around NYC from WNY...7000 miles so far and loving almost every minute, this car has far exceeded my expectations, in all driving conditions...especially at $25,000. Sweet lil car Too bad for speed limits, I can't drive 65!! this thing wants to cruise at 80. Ok, maybe that's just me. Fuel economy is 37 combined :( but supposed to jump soon!

Great Car, but switched 1wk later
I bought this car with a six speed stick shift. I could not get used to the clutch, and sadly I returned it a week later. I test drove the VW and the Mini Cooper at the same time. Over all the VW had the mini beat on standard features, and comfort. The stick on the VW shifts like butter while the Mini seemed notchy. The mini cooper had a feature that the VW TDI absolutely needs! Hill Hold Brake Assist! This feature is only available on the Passat. If Mini can do this for $21000, then VW should be able to for $23K. The TDI is very easy to stall on hills due to the clutch, and low RPMs. My dealer let me trade the Golf TDI for a Jetta TDI with the dsg.
The Jetta is great, excellent car.
TDI has great performance and MPG, especially on the Freeway, I enjoyed the car until I found out the truth about its emissions. I sold the car back to VW in Sept 2016. I will say that VW was very generous and I was pleased with the settlement. I turned around and bought a Jetta at a great price, and I'm absolutely pleased with it. Update: Much the same as before. I wish VW hadn't blown it like they did and the emissions weren't the problems they were. I still might be driving it today. And the Jetta is great. A coulda shoulda woulda moment for VW USA, plus pretty calculated scam as well. I'm glad they realized they better roll over quickly or run real risk of losing their American market.

Good so far
I now have 10k miles, trouble free. Excellent handling, great mpg (43avg). There is light noise coming from drivers side door, dealer says they tighten but still there. Be careful where you buy your diesel, make sure it specifies ULTRA-LOW sulfur and stay away from the LOW sulfur fuel. Gas stations can continue to sell LOW sulfur fuel until the end of 2010. Dealer didn't mention that when I purchased the vehicle.
