Used 2010 Volkswagen Golf Consumer Reviews
Golf TDI...worth the money
The Golf TDI may be at the expensive end of the economy car segment, but it's worth it. Premium materials inside, excellent quality, great driving experience, and fantastic fuel economy are all worth the price of admission. I considered a Jetta Wagon TDI, but chose the Golf TDI instead...the suspension is firmer on the Golf, and to equip a Jetta Wagon to the same level as the Golf would have made the Jetta considerably more expensive. It's got very roomy front and back seats, and the front seats are similar to the seats in the GTI so they are sporty yet comfortable.
Sweet Little Car
We have put 6k miles on this Golf TDI and find it very well put together. It handles very well in all kinds of weather, I was very pleased how it handled the snow the first night i drove it home. The Sunroof is very quiet when open. We use the car for commuting 160 miles a day, getting 42 MPG . My wife loves to drive it she likes it much better than the 06 Jetta 2.0T and the 03 GTI we had.

great car , diesel or otherwise
I have owned many european cars over the years.I chose to purchase a 2010 Golf TDI for the fuel economy and price point .To date it has exceeded my expectations. It is an enjoyable drive, great road manners. The cloth seats are very comfortable and supportive. The interior is thoughtfully laid out .TDI's get 40+mpg hwy. and 30+mpg city.A federal tax credit of $1300-$1700 dollars.
1300 miles so far
Sold 04 Jetta TDI for this. Fun to drive by keeping acceleration in peak torque range around 2500 rpm. Xenon headlights are well worth the $750 upgrade price. Fog lamps automatically light up when turning to assist headlights in sharp turns. EGR valve went out at 750 miles; part should have lasted till 100k easily. One annoying thing is occasional acceleration lag; give a little throttle to move car up some, then maybe 3/4 throttle to jump in traffic and car "stumbles" before turbo spins up enough to boost. Happens not often but enough to be annoying. Common on 3 TDIs I've owned. Hair raising in busy cross traffic. Dunno how VW has not had a class action lawsuit. Fun car nevertheless.
Get ready for take off....Golf TDI 2010
Just bought a new 2010 Golf TDI, moving up from a 95 Golf III Sport, Fantastic. Fun to drive. Picked up on Wed and drove to Denver overnight for Thanksgiving. Handled perfectly all night. Took it to Loveland Pass, 11,099 ft, and to Breckenridge while there and it performed great, just ate up the mountains. Plenty of power to eat up the switchbacks and the altitude. Room for stuff in back i.e. groceries, bike w/wheels off, need a bike roof rack now, and luggage too. Love the 6 speed manual 80 mph at 2,200 rpm. A real solid car and really fun to drive too. Great, best VW I have owned. Best drive to Denve I have ever had. 1,500 miles in first week. Everything Bob in R.I says and more. later
