Used 2003 Volkswagen Golf Consumer Reviews
I should have bought one years ago!
I purchased my 2003 4dr.Golf TDI automatic new, nearly a year ago.I now have 19K miles on it. The TDI has excellent power. We use it like an SUV. Half the time we are hauling kids, and the other half of the time we have the rear seats down and have it loaded with supplies. I'm 6'1",it has legroom to spare. I drive this car hard, lots of stop/go, on/off, when on the freeway it's always 80 mph. Even with this torture, I get a combined 31 mpg. The value of many cars more than twice the price.
48MPG
Idrive 25000 miles per year and get 48 MPG. Diesel fuel is now 15 cents cheaper than regular gas.

another VW purchase
I love VWs! I have only owned Volkswagens. I recently purchased a brand new 2003 Golf GLS and I am having a wonderful time. It drives smooth, it's reliable, and it's sporty. Chaplin's dealership provided EXCELLENT service. Carter did not!
2003 Golf TDI
This car gets more miles per gallon than the sticker advertised. It is hard to ask for more. In addition, it is fun to drive and practical, given its ability to haul oversized parcels.
Golf TDI ROCKS!
I already have Golf TDI for one year. I have not had any problems at all with anything - it works like a Swiss clock! Gas/milage is a killer, I get 650/700 per tank (14 gal) for highway and 450/500 per tank in the city. It looks kind of dated, but it is very different from other cars and therefore I don't feel that dated look too much. The car is roomy and affordable. It's increadable fun to drive! The car achives 155 torque at very low RPMs! My only suggestion is: don't get automatic transmission, get a manual one - you will get much better performance.
