Used 2003 Volkswagen Golf Consumer Reviews
Perfect small car
Luckily for me, my mother loved the car just as much as i did and she was willing to part with her money in order for me to have a car. I've had the car for about a month now and i really enjoy it. It blows a civic and any ford out of the water. The sound system is immaculate, and the cabin is much better designed than my fathers civic and siblings fords. I look foward to see how it will perform five years from now. For the meantime though, i'm gonna enjoy my vw.
I should have bought one years ago!
I purchased my 2003 4dr.Golf TDI automatic new, nearly a year ago.I now have 19K miles on it. The TDI has excellent power. We use it like an SUV. Half the time we are hauling kids, and the other half of the time we have the rear seats down and have it loaded with supplies. I'm 6'1",it has legroom to spare. I drive this car hard, lots of stop/go, on/off, when on the freeway it's always 80 mph. Even with this torture, I get a combined 31 mpg. The value of many cars more than twice the price.

48MPG
Idrive 25000 miles per year and get 48 MPG. Diesel fuel is now 15 cents cheaper than regular gas.
Great Smalll Car
Compared to all other small cars, the Golf wins as the best quality and best value. No car at $16K to $19K is perfect, but the Golf is the closest. At 3000 lbs., with 8 airbags, standard 4-wheel anti-lock disks, and available ESP, it is the safest. It is also fun to drive, with solid handling and a remarkably compliant ride for small a car. High resale value makes VWs the only econoboxes that are worth leasing.
another VW purchase
I love VWs! I have only owned Volkswagens. I recently purchased a brand new 2003 Golf GLS and I am having a wonderful time. It drives smooth, it's reliable, and it's sporty. Chaplin's dealership provided EXCELLENT service. Carter did not!
