Lemon law?

So I drove my new car off the lot and it quickly developed a rattle in the dash. Brought the car in and they replaced the front axel, struts, mounts, etc. Basically the whole front end. Car drove fine for 200 miles and the rattle is back again. In my state 3 repairs for the same problem = lemon law. I suspect this will be the fate of my brand new car that I haven't even made a payment on yet and is only 1 week old! Consumer reports just rated this car as poor for reliability. If they had released their rankings 2 weeks earlier I probably would have looked elsewhere for a car.

Sporty, practical, stylish, affordable, can't lose

I'm a loyal VW driver/owner who fell in love with my wife's loaded TDI Jetta Sportwagen years ago and never got over it when she traded it in. I loved the handling and the pep, so when it came time to replace my trusty Rabbit I hunted down an end of the year deal on a Golf Sportwagen. I snagged a base model for well under MSRP. This car is peppy and fun to drive, I suppose it's the turbo plus that signature VW handling. Acceleration is ample. The handling makes me long for some curvy country roads or hills. I might have snagged the manual if the dealer had one left, but I've been more than happy with the automatic. It's a practical family car that can haul a ton of groceries, sports gear or musical instruments quite easily with multiple kids in the car. Add a roof rack and you've got a lot of space for extras. Mileage is respectable, 22-24 city, 37-38 highway. I don't need 4motion really. It looks much cooler than crossovers in its class. Think of this as an entry level Audi (more so if you get the loaded version). Interior is groovy, actually like the cloth a bit better than the leatherette. Driver's seat is really comfortable. The sound system is good, not amazing. The Apple Carplay and display is a fantastic feature for iPhone users and a major upgrade for me, though probably standard for many cars by now. Heating and cooling is ample. I don't miss all the bells and whistles or sunroof much at all. If you want a no-frills fun to drive car, you can't lose with the Sportwagen. I would absolutely test drive an electric version if they make one.

Goodby 2004 Outback!

We had a 2000 Golf for 10 years and really enjoyed it. The Sportwagen brought us back all of the features we liked and added today's technology. We're replacing a 2004 Outback and felt we got more for our money when comparing them against each other. Got almost 39 MPG on a recent 200 mile highway trip.

I tend to keep my cars for several years and get very attached to them. This one grabbed me from day one. It's a perfect size for me. Our children are grown, but we have two small grandchildren. My wagon holds car seats and various gear with plenty of room leftover. It's sturdy and well built and feels solid and safe. The interior is non fussy but still looks well-appointed. Everything is within easy reach of the driver. I've had no problems with reliability at all, and plan to spend the next several years with my little car.

I bought this as a used car in Jan. 2018. It had 50,000 km (31,000 miles) In Central Ontario, AWD is a terrific advantage on snowy/icy roads. This replaced a 2004 Golf TDI diesel and I miss the diesel's fantastic fuel mileage. Still, summer cruising gives me almost 400 miles per tank. The car handles very well and loads of cargo space with rear seats down. Low enough to lift heavier objects with little difficulty. Seats are comfortable, heated in front, again a blessing in Ontario. Heated side mirrors, beautiful. A tad difficult for rear seat in/out but I rarely have back passengers. Back up mirror is large and very bright, lens is covered cleverly until auto is in reverse so it stays clean. 16,000 km (10,000 miles ) between service stops is a bonus. Open/close doors gives a nice solid thunk, well built, no rattles. I'm 77 years old and I have driven Ontario to Florida twice and felt good at the end of the trip. This Sportwagen does every thing I want it to and never seems to be labouring. I am delighted with this vehicle and recommend it highly. Not as much fun as my 2004 Golf TDI, but a great vehicle.
