My wife purchased a brand new 2021 Accord Hybrid from Tameron Honda this year following a tornado which destroyed our home and her car. As we always seek to have a spare, ideally full-size, and knowing the full-size is not standard on most cars now, she asked for the optional upgrade on this. They informed her that the car actually came with no spare, and there was no option to purchase a spare of any kind as an option. Instead, they sold her a package which included 60 months roadside assistance and a warranty of the same duration which would cover repair/replacement for road hazard damage on the tires. A few months following the purchase, the passenger rear tire picked up a nail. I was driving the car at the time, and contacted Tameron, who told me to come in to the dealership, so I took off work for the day and drove in to the dealership after using the pump to temporarily re-inflate the tire. The dealership told me they couldn't fix it, but assured me that the warranty would cover a replacement at any major tire store. From Tameron's parking lot, I called the nearest such store which stocked Michelin tires, as the car had Michelins installed when new, and it would be preferable to keep the tires matching on a car with just over 1000 miles on the odometer. This was Pep-Boys, and they informed me they could not accept Fidelity insurance. The next place which sold Michelins was Sam's Club, but they could not be reached by phone, and I don't have a membership. The same was true of Walmart, but without the membership barrier, I drove there to inquire. They did not accept Fidelity. I also called Vulcan tire, which is not a national chain, but which the Tameron service tech told me did accept Fidelity, at the location near their dealership. While this was confirmed, they had no availability all week. Finally, I accepted that I could not get a matched tire, and went to Firestone, which is my preferred brand. They do accept Fidelity, but informed me that Fidelity required a minimum of twenty-four hours to review the claim before the work could be done, during which time they would have to hold the car. The terms of the Fidelity warranty claim to cover reimbursement for the tire replacement, but only if the specifications of the replacement are an exact match to those printed on the car door. So I paid out-of-pocket, and will have to apply for reimbursement. The car's specs caused me to have to purchase a more expensive tire than Firestone recommended, and I expect a challenge in getting reimbursed for the $200+ tire. I called Fidelity and they agreed to email the reimbursement forms to my wife. She received the, and we were both astonished that it can only be submitted by fax. She replied to ask if she could email the forms, and has not yet received an answer.

My experience with Ferman BMW started off well, but it quickly transformed into a nightmare. On Tuesday morning, March 28, 2023, I messaged this dealership through their website regarding a used 2020 Jaguar F-PACE I wanted to test drive. A rep called me right away and said the car was available, so I set up an appointment for 4pm that day since I lived almost 2 hours away. I arrived at around 3:40pm, and the sales rep attempted to find the car. I was not offered a seat or anything to drink, which was surprising, but I also figured that the wait would not be long. Six minutes later, my phone rang, but I dismissed the call since I thought the sales rep would be back any moment with the keys. I stood around for 10+ minutes until the sales rep returned and explained that the car had a deposit on it, and the potential new owners were currently driving it. He took my information down in case the deal fell through, and I headed to my car disappointed. This is when the situation went south. When I was in the parking lot, I received a text from a different sales associate who explained that she had just tried to call me (it was the call I dismissed at 3:46pm) because she had just learned the same information that the other sales rep shared with me. I texted her back and politely asked her why I didn’t have first dibs since I had set up an appointment in the morning. She said the deposit came through on Saturday, and the internet department was not on-site to confirm if the car was still available. Essentially, a deposit had been placed on the car 3 days before I set up my appointment, and the person I spoke with that morning did not mention that to me at all. In fact, she told me the car was 100% available. I am a marketing leader with nearly 2 decades of experience, so I have a strong understanding of the tools and resources that allow departments to align on data like this—regardless of whether they are on-site or not. Ferman BMW’s annual revenue is estimated at $36M a year with 140 employees, so they should have the infrastructure and means to implement the software and headcount needed to accurately communicate interdepartmentally. This so-called “miscommunication” is highly unlikely. Instead, this “misunderstanding” is most likely a feeble attempt to lure me to the dealership in an effort to upsell me for a larger profit. I lost time and money driving 4 hours (round trip) to Ferman BMW, but you don’t have to make the same mistake. I ended up contacting Gettel Toyota of Lakewood about a different Jaguar F-PACE, and the first thing the sales rep did when I arrived was offer me a seat and a drink. A few minutes later, I test drove the Jaguar. Minutes after that, I bought it. If you’re looking for a used car, I recommend you find a dealership who doesn’t have this type of “miscommunication.”

Politely and repeatedly asked for straight up, honest, bottom line, out the door purchase price. I could NOT get an answer. This is NOT an MSRP dealer if they hide costs, add unwanted 'extras' and 'accessories'. A $410 (Honda. Com) mud flap, floor mat and cargo tray ended up at $1799. That's $1389 for rear side and rear windows for tint. I can have three cars done for that price. They add Dealer Doc fees $465.....simply put, SC says No Doc Fees... Thats already a built in back office dealer cost of doing business. Although this car did not come with 'Ceramic Coating' (nice on a Porsche) or 'Nitrogen' filled tires (think Formula 1 racing and not a entry level Honda SUV), these are all pure dealer add-ons meant to hide mark-up and dealer profit. There is much more to my repeated and sincere attempts to purchase a car for my college aged daughter.....unfortunately I cannot recommend Fred Anderson Honda as a 'good deal' and straight up and honest dealer. Sorry!
