Fred Ward told me how after 31 years in the car business, he knows how to make sure his customers are satisfied. I believed him. His southern, good old boy, casual confidence worked on me. I bought a pre-owned Lexus from him and within hours of leaving with the car there were problems that didn’t show up on the test drive. I should clarify that he promised to personally take car of any unforeseen issues, and he knew I was choosing between his Lexus and a similar one at a nearby Lexus dealer. He sure fooled me. He then ignored my calls and emails for over a month, and even went as far as to hide from me when I came in to speak with him in person. I wanted him to look me in the eye and tell me he wasn’t going to keep his word.
