Great truck. Toyota backs their brand

Still love my truck. Here is my experience after nearly 4 years and 54k miles:
Got a new engine at 43k miles due to the recall even though my original ran perfectly. I figured it's a $20k NEW (not rebuilt, but factory new) engine for free, so why not? Dealer did a great job.
This truck is a beast. Runs great, drives great.
With offroad tires your mileage will suffer. I had … KO2's and got about 16/19. Pretty good for a Toyota truck, but their wet weather performance stunk and couldn't wait for the KO3's to come out, so I got Wildpeaks and promptly lost 2 mpg. The new engine was so tight, lost another 1mpg.
Right now, at 54k miles, I'm getting 12-14 city and 16-20 highway depending on whether I'm going straight or up and down hills. When I take it easy, I might get another 1mpg.
Even though this truck is very quick and has a lot of HP and torque, don't speed excessively with an empty truck bed. I once thought I'd test it's limits and went 95mph and immediately felt like I was going to lose control at that speed and fly off the road. If you stay under 90, you're great... handles amazingly and sticks to the road (Who the heck goes over 90 in a truck anyway? It's not a Ferrari). Watch your rear end with an empty bed in wet weather as with any truck.
Great JBL sound system.
The full roll down rear window is awesome. The sunroof on my Limited never leaks like you hear about with other makes.
The annoyances are:
1. Drivers seat control panel has cracked 3 times from getting in and out. The dealer promptly replaces each one which seems to last about 14 months. I have a Toyota extended warranty (because this was a first year new model), so I'm covered. This is a known issue.
2. My passenger rear window auto safety- reverses at 3/4 up thinking there's an obstruction when I do the one-click roll up in weather below 80 degrees or after the truck gets wet. I suspect it's the rubber seal that's too tight at that point because the channel is too narrow on that one door. Maybe its the sensor, but I have reset it and it's fine for a week, and replaced the seal but it still happens so I "walk it up" with 3 short bursts and it closes fine. Again, just annoying, and it's only that one window.
3. The air conditioning blower motor doesn't blow anywhere as strong as my other vehicles, but it still cools down the truck great.
4. The rear seat area isn't great for dogs unless you build a platform like I did out of a 3x5 piece of plywood covered in black carpet resting on the underseat storage box, and small boxes I built to fill the void just behind the front seats. I rarely use the rear seats so this is a great solution.
5. I like the look but hate the wobbly plastic front grill material. It's a trend with manufacturers now which I do not like..
6. NO TOW HOOKS. WTF TOYOTA? (granted, 98% of us won't need them, but IT'S A 4X4)
7. The 14" screen is great but the Toyota smart interface stinks. It often responds with "I don't understand" unless you phrase things an exact way. And $15 a month for features like remote start and navigation is just wrong. It's free on other makes.
Toyota backs their products and the truck will last 300k miles, so buy it
