2022 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid
I have had my XLE Premium for almost a year. After getting my fuel gauge working as expected in the early months (fuel tank emptied and refilled - gas gauge works properly), the car has been problem free. I replaced the original Michelin Primacy tires with quieter Pirelli's which improved the noise level and handling.
I generally keep my speed at 65 or a bit less on the highway - … 44mpg on recent trip back from
down east Maine. Vehicles like this are less than aerodynamic and tend to drop mpg much over 65mph. I find noise levels very acceptable at 65mph - tire change helped here.
Handling and ride are as expected - even with tire air pressures at 37 which also helps the mpg. Of course, my mileage dropped during the winter as it does with all cars, but still very good. The higher tire pressure I use is well below cold pressure tire rating max and seems to
improve handling as well as helping mpg..
All of the safety equipment has worked well - nice to have RCTA along with heated front seats
and steering wheel. Controls are easy to use.
So if you want an economical to drive SUV that is easy to get in and out of, get one of these hybrids - quieter than the gas only version and just as reliable. Just keep in mind the beneficial
result from a change in tire. Toyota continues to make the most reliable cars/suvs overall which is a really good thing. If you are an aggressive and a fast driver on the highway, your mpg and noise levels will vary from mine.
