2023 Toyota Prius
I’ve owned every Prius (Prime, C, V, regular), but this new one is my favorite, particularly because of the styling. I had been on a waiting list for 8 months at one dealership, but then I stumbled upon a 2023 black Prius Limited that had just arrived at a nearby dealer. And it was available with no price mark-up! That’s a rare situation these days. So, I grabbed it.
It’s rated 52 … mpg. I’m easily getting 60+ around town as long as the trip is three miles or more so the hybrid system can warm up. Our highway trip from the dealership delivered 55 mpg. The ride is smooth with minimal road noise. The front seats are very comfortable. My petite wife and daughter are fine with the back seat, but it's cramped for me even though I’m a slender 5’10". My head touches the roof if I sit upright. Back leg room is only good for me if the front seat is moved far forward. Cargo space is not great, but it was not a deal-breaker for us. The car sits VERY low, so getting in and out might be a challenge for some people. Controls are very intuitive, and I like that Toyota is returning to buttons/knobs for things like climate control. (I hated the climate control screen in our Prius V.) The upgraded JBL sound system is the best car audio I’ve ever had. Also, Toyota has decided it’s not dangerous for drivers to see album artwork for music! Our 2022 RAV4 Prime only shows artwork from my flash drive when the vehicle is stopped. (Seriously?)
In just three weeks, I’ve had numerous people comment on the looks of the car, even comments from strangers in parking lots. It definitely catches the eye. The design is very sleek and stylish. Our previous Prius models gave us zero problems, so we are expecting the same great Toyota reliability with this Prius as well.
