2021 Toyota Highlander
Update: the issue seems to be occurring only in ECO mode, never happens in sport mode.
Sporty handling give this car a smaller feel. I purchased a 2021 XSE AWD after Christmas,, and at 500mi began experiencing high RPMs (4k-5k) while car attempted to shift gears. Toyota dealership says no errors and unable to determine why this is occurring. I found additional information online … about similar issues with Highlanders across the years. Seems to be maybe computer related or transmission issue of car bit sure when to shift gears after going forward, letting off the gas and accelerating again between gears 3-4 maybe. Just waaayy too soon to experience issues for a $45k brand new vehicle. Engine is still in break in period.
Good car, quite a bit of plastic inside, but good overall so far at 8k MI. No more high RPMs!
