2021 Hybrid XLE Windshield Cannot be Replaced!

2021 Toyota Highlander
We love our 2021 hybrid XLE; however, we noticed a crack in the lower passenger side windshield that seemed to appear from nowhere. We had heard no sharp snap as if from a flying rock or pebble, yet there it was after a highway road trip. Because of the electronics and vehicle warranty (just over 900 miles when this happened), we went to the dealer for an assessment and replacement. We … felt there was a manufacturing defect, but the dealer insisted it was a rock hit. Now we are told that it may take up to a year for a replacement, as all Toyota Highlander windshields for our model have been found to have a (surprise!) manufacturing defect. Really, Toyota?
