Dealer Review:

I believe the salesman, Marcel Prado, was honest. He did his job of constantly talking about personal stuff to keep question about car purchase limited. Courtney raised my trade in value from $500 to $1000. Told her the KBB trade in value was over $2000. She said car was going to auction and that was the most they could give me. Should have been my sign to walk out, but I didn’t. I had been looking for this car for over 3 years. I had read poor reviews of Venice Toyota but they had the car I wanted. Everyone was so nice. They wouldn’t lie or cheat me. Car was advertised as $30,900 if I financed with them. $1000 more if I didn’t use their financing. I ended up financing with them because they said I could pay off the loan early (after 3 months) with no penalty. Said they deal with many banks and would give me the best price. Don’t know if 5.4% is the best because they never showed me all the options. I get to the finance managers office, David Simmons, knowing that they would try to sell me a bunch of additional stuff. He also was very chatty talking about family, etc. trying to keep my mind off what I was signing. As soon as he started inputting info into computer, I asked if he took $1000 off because I was financing with them. He replied, yes. Then he began putting papers in front of me with highlighted mark where to sign. Never gave me a chance to even look at what I was signing. I know this is my fault, but he was so nice, he wouldn’t scam me. He did explain additional warranties available. I picked a plan because the amount written on the paper was $586. I thought that was how much the plan cost. Bad assumption. The actual cost was $4185. I had plans 1/2 hour after I got home from dealership so never got a chance to read all the paperwork until later that night. The first thing I notice is the cash price of vehicle is $32,797. I haven’t a clue where that figure came from. The moral of the story is……don’t do business with Venice Toyota. I take responsibility for my stupidity. I knew they were bad news but they won me over with their charm. And they won an extra $10,000 of my hard earned money. I did know about the additional electronic registration fee, pre delivery fee, tax, tag and title fees. The car should have been around $35,000. The kicker is that they now have my trade in car for sale for $4,990. I hope this review helps save at least one person from making the same mistake as me.
