Great sporty car for its niche

2015 Subaru WRX
If you must have a 4 door, very good performance, only have $35K to spend, do not want poor long term reliability / expensive maintenance of European cars, and size bloat of other cars, this is a great choice. Not the fastest car but acceleration is very good. Beware turbo lag! Do not expect to mod the engine unless you want to void the warranty, bummer. Steering is good, handling is … great (within reason, not M3 level), ride is very jarring. Shifter is decent feeling, but fast 2nd to 3rd gear shifts can get screwed up as shifter seem to find the same spot exactly between 1st and 3rd, preventing shifter going into 3rd. 4 wheel drive is there. Can cause some torque steer, but you can really feel the 4 wheels pull you through the turns ( if you are aggressive) . Interior is looks OK, but remember this is only a $35K car with most of the cost going to the turbo boxer engine, 4 wheel drive, and suspension. Front seats very supporting, rear is like any other econo-box. Base stereo is poor. Instrument have many different screens, which seems cool at first, but then you realize most of the screens show nothing of interest, except boost gauge. Car given 4 stars as there are faster sedan, but more expensive too. This does not mean this is not a very fun car to drive and own.
