Dealer Review:

I called the dealer about a vehicle that I was interested in purchasing and the salesman led me to believe that the vehicle was in excellent condition inside and out. I was skeptical by the posting because it said the exact same thing. I told the guy I was going to have to drive 1 hour and 30 minutes just to get there and to please be honest about its condition. Well I was fooled I went there to look at the vehicle and the posting said it had remote start but when I got the key there was no fob to do the remote start, so I asked if there was a key fob that went with the vehicle and he said no but he could program one to unlock the car. I over looked the outside of the vehicle and there was rust all over the edge of the hood about 2 inches up, and they just painted over it. The lower Part of the bumper was disconnected and it had been hit before cause it was spider cracked all over. The inside of the vehicle smelled like it had mold in it there was pieces missing from the overhead storage compartment. The driver side sear had a huge hole in the side of it where it looked like it got cut out and not just from wear. There was also somthing sticky all over the carpet in the back. I talked to the salesman that I talked with on the phone and all he had to say was it was all wear an tear an thar I was being to picky. This was a 2016 vehicle so all the problems it had didn't just seem like wear an tear but he acted like I was an idiot an that I should of known that the vehicle was going to look like that. He said it's used so this is what you get. Knowing how much he lied about the vehicle upfront just made me wonder what else was wrong with the vehicle mechanically. In my opinion the salesman is a typical sneaky salesman and by the posting it seems like the owner might be the same way. If you buy from this dealer just be prepared on what the vehicle might look like or in this case smell like too.

The internet advertised price is the dealer's all cash price. This includes if you come with your own bank financing. If using any bank financing, they try and increase the price by $5,000. The finance team at the dealer is transparent, but only if you ask the right questions. Example, I had to ask about various fees loaded onto the price and discovered a $3,000 prep fee that they were willing to waive.....but I had to dig it out and find it. While seeming to be a fair market priced dealer, they are actually a negotiation dealer. I did like the selection of cars. Sales team was somewhat disinterested (but I was there late on a Saturday).

I bought a 2014 Nissan Versa from International Auto Outlet on 12/31/2022 for what I considered a great price. Unfortunately on my way to work on the following Tuesday the transmission started to have issues. I knew the Nissan CVT transmissions were prone to issues before buying it but had no issues on the test drive and with the car having 108,000 miles on it I took the risk. With this know issue in mind, I took the car to the local Nissan dealership and got it diagnosed. I received a quote from Nissan that stated there was a code in the vehicles computer and based on the code and the issues it was having I needed to have the Valve Body replaced and the computer updated with the newest software at a cost of just under $2000. I was a bit shocked at the price but since I had just purchased the car and it had the code for the transmission issue in it that was not disclosed at the time of purchase I called International Auto Outlet. At first they seemed to be willing to help and asked for the quote and told be they would reach out shortly with a resolution. I was later informed that they wanted me to bring the car into their service center. I asked what the plan was because I didn't want to bring the car there with out knowing what the potential results would be as it would have to be towed almost 50 miles. They didn't have any answer but I was told the Sales Supervisor might know so I asked to talk to them. I was told that they weren't there at the time but they would call back. I never got a call and when I called the Sales Supervisor was again not there. I have yet to get any call or explanation from the dealership. I can't say that they for sure knew about the transmission issue before selling the car but I'm sure I could ask Nissan for the history of codes in the vehicle's computer and find out. I think that it is very poor customer service to allow such an issue with no resolution and leave a customer on the hook with a $7500 car that can't drive.

Our saleman, Mayur Dhwan, is a very nice person and handled our test drive very nicely. When we went to actually purchase the vehicle (CPO) we asked about the 160 Point Checklist. We were told that since it was sold as a CPO last year, it is still a CPO, there is no need for a checklist. After we insisted, more than 30 minutes later a checklist was produced. The only item I really knew anything about was incorrect on the checklist -- it said there were two keys whereas we were originally told the previous owner had one key. Everyone we talked to insisted that, since it shows up in the system as CPO, then yes indeed it is CPO and of course it had a 160 point check. We have no argument that it is a CPO in the system. Based on our experience, we seriously doubt it ever had a 160 point check before we purchased the vehicle. The Toyota National CPO customer support people were very nice but essentially useless. We eventually talked to the Toyota Representative (evidently works for Koons & Toyota) who did schedule an appointment to get the second key made on a Tuesday. My son took the car over Tuesday and was told they only make keys on Wednesday (?!). The used car manager told my son that he was really going out of his way to have a second key made and that his parent should come show their thanks by purchasing another vehicle soon (!). Even though we had an appointment that Koon's scheduled. This was a much different experience than another vehicle we had purchased from this same dealership in January where the paperwork (including the 160 point checklist) was ready to go and the salesman followed up with getting some minor issues worked out. In the end, we do not trust this dealership (and I've lost a lot of faith in Toyota Customer Service (National). My advice if you are purchasing a CPO vehicle from this dealership is to make sure they have all of the CPO paperwork and all of the keys/keyfobs/whatever done before you make the final purchase as you may end up with a hassle as they seem to have no motivation to do anything once the car is sold.
