Found a car through Capital One Auto Loan Navigator. I was approved for the dealer price they provided to Capital One, which differed from the one on their website. I pointed this out and was told the owner would have to decide if the price they provided to Capital One pre-loan would be honored or if it was simply “bait”. The owner would not honor the price. Without telling me this, Ttey sent the bank a loan request for $2000 over the advertised price provided to Capital One. This discrepancy caused the loan to require a $2500 down payment. Oldest trick in the book: bait & switch. I suggest not listing your cars in different places for different prices. You blamed the bank, but you work together, so the price should’ve been honored. Extremely disappointed.
