1993 Pontiac Grand Am
We were looking for a nice older third
car to put miles on without feeling
guilty. The Quad 4 is the only reason I
considered this car. We bought it from
a GM mechanic in showroom condition
with 61k miles and all receipts.
However, little problems pop up almost
weekly (see below). Its not
exceedingly fun to drive with its poor
shifter feel. Quad 4 revs rather slowly …
for a 175hp 4 cylinder with a 7,000 rpm
redline. Suspension is stiff and harsh,
yet handling performance is average.
Acceleration isnt blistering, but
itll move if it's kept wound up.
Overall, I'm not surprised with our
experience so far. It's almost 10 years
old and just showing some age.
