2019 Nissan Altima
My 2019 stinger was in the shop for 5 days and I was given a 2019 altima base model with 18000 miles on it already.
The darn thing drove like it only had 1000 miles. So smooth and quiet. Very stable feeling, quiet cabin. I'm a big guy and my legs are on the seat bolsters and its an odd feeling. Not sure I like that. Very skinny people probably fit entirely on the seat bottom. Seat back … felt wonderful. Entry and exit was easy.
The 4 banger was very quiet. Much quieter than my 2017 optima. And that cvt. Wow they really have that dialed in. I'm not sure if its intentional but I noticed when I accelerate gently from a stop, the rpms will go to 1800 and stay there all the way up to 65 mph. It's like driving an electric car. No noises, no jolts, no vibrations. Just smooth acceleration.
Then if I stepped on it, the transmission pretended to have gears. It would hold a ratio so the rpms raised like a normal trans then you would feel a (fake) shift.
Today I returned it and got my stinger back. And let me tell you that cvt trans in the base altima makes my stinger with 8 speed trans feel like it's from the stone ages. Now I feel like a car that shifts is behind the times.
I will be looking at Altima when my stinger lease is up thats for sure.
