2017 Mercedes-Benz Metris
I got an Explorer Conversion van on a 2017 chassis and so far we have done three round-trip cross country drives from NY, visiting most of the Lower 48 National Parks and dozens of national monuments, state parks, museums and similar attractions. This includes summer driving through the major US deserts and occasional strong lateral winds (once I got a message "Cross wind measures … enabled" or something like that, on I-90 near Billings Mt.
Engine has performed without a problem; A/C worked fine in 110+ temps (Death Valley, Tucson). Transmission has also worked fine but once I got Check Engine Light, driving uphill during rain and changing "C" to "E" mode - I pulled over, restarted the engine and the CEL turned off.
During the first year or so I had a dashboard rattle but fortunately it went away about two years ago - now it is really low-noise.
This past summer, a small round hole in the windshield center developed into a visible crack on the passenger side. We were in Wall SD and but somehow Geico and Safelite managed to replace it in Helena Mt, in just a couple of hours - a miracle for me.
