In this time of car shortages we were told Fields has a policy to not charge an extra fee like many others are “just because they can “. They prefer to have a long term relationship. After reviewing ad for one of their used car, i made an hour long trip to their Ogden location. Only to find out the features they mentioned in their ad, on their own website as well as other sites, didn’t exist in the car. Also car had scratches, color peeled off that they didn’t mention when I specifically inquired about it over the phone. Sales person wasn’t prepared, had to wait for keys, very unorganized. Best to avoid but in any case don’t trust anything you read or they tell you over phone.. No one expects cheap trickery from a luxury car dealer. They are not.

I was excited to buy my teen daughter her first car. I carefully chose a used 2012 Kia optima that was listed for $8995. Decide to test drive and agreed to move forward with purchase. After 2 hours of negotiation with banks due to being an older vehicle, financing was not as easy but finally got an approval. I was presented with payment amount and term then asked to sign in agreement. Finally made it over to finance department where I was in the middle of signing paperwork when I realized how close I was to signing an extended warranty I never agreed to that would cost me an additional 2k!!! I stopped her and asked why that was added if I never agreed to any add-ons! She replied “ it’s not going to cost you anything extra, you’re payment will stay the same!!” I said, No I don’t want it so she snatched the paper and began printing a new bill of sale when I looked at it I realized the car price was $10,995. I stopped her again and asked her why that amount? She then got the car salesman to come and attempt to explain that it was a “added bank fee” I said that doesn’t make sense to me and I’m starting to not feel good about this.. I need the bank phone number to clarify this information! That’s when everything went completely crazy! The finance lady lost it and was extremely rude to me!! I felt like I was going to explode as I’m trying to explain my concern and they are refusing to give me a phone number to call.. they were talking over me and turned into a complete disaster.. I just grabbed my purse and left as tears just started to drop.. worst experience ever!!!

I contacted this dealer to come in for a test drive and was going over the price and fees I saw on Edmunds.com for this car. After I provided them with my personal information to qualify for a loan the sales manager I was talking to informed me that there was a non-negotiable $2500.00 charge for painting and rustproofing the car. I said I don't want that service but they said they do it for all of their cars and it is part of the price. So the $12,300 price was really $14,800 plus the other fees shown. He also mentioned a $1500 Lojack fee but that one was optional apparently. I was grateful he told me over the phone because I was going to drive 3 hrs to test drive and buy the car until I was told about this additional non-optional fee which was not listed on Edmunds.com. Essentially that would have been a 20% markup from the advertised price. Buyer beware.
