My take on Common Complaints
SD AMG GTS, 03/07/2021
2017 Mercedes-Benz AMG GT
- Limited Visibility: Try a ZL1 Camaro for limited visibility. By contrast I find the visibility so good that it is easy to forget you're driving a capable sports car. That is until you enter a corner or accelerate.
- Awkward Shift Knob Position: I actually enjoy the gear select being back and out of the way. Given the only transmission option is a dual clutch automatic, gear … select is generally confined to start and end of a trip so virtually little if any effort expended.
- Stiff Ride: If you're accustom to Lexus sedan, maybe so. However, by that standard virtually any worthy sports car is equally guilty. Compared to classic and contemporary sports cars, my experience is that of a composed and competent suspension with absolutely acceptable comfort.
- Lap Top Display: YEP! My greatest visual complaint along with awkward user interface. That confessed, I bought the car for the driving experience and distinctive appearance.
