2011 Mazda 2
The Mazda2 was about the smallest and lightest 4-door hatchback sold in the states, and it shows its size. It's a little rough on the highway and above 70, fuel economy drops considerably even with the 5-speed manual. But as a small city car, it's stellar. With the manual transmission at least, it's responsive and quick, and it has decent cargo capacity. Though it doesn't have bluetooth … as standard, it has an aux input jack and a decent stereo. Rear legroom is lacking, but it's about average for the class. Overall, it's been a great little car for me. My fuel economy has been above EPA estimates on average, I've not had any reliability issues with it, and it's been a lot of fun to drive.
