Good vehicle with room to improve

2020 Lincoln Corsair
Love the looks of this vehicle both inside and out. Steering wheel feels great and she handles very well. I have the 2.0 and have plenty of power to merge onto highway or dodge out of the way of others. Coming from a Durango Citadel this feels super sporty. The brakes are worth mentioning here; they are very grippe and does a great job of stopping the vehicle. Just have to get use to … the responsiveness and for me, the break pedal seems to stick out too far. The sound system is good. I was surprised at how well the music from my phone sounded. I like the quietness of the cabin area. You still hear some road noise but it is a quieter interior and the seal of the doors makes it feel "pressurized" at times. The center entertainment center is nice and I like the options. Some I feel could be one touch versus having to make several touches to the screen. I found it odd that the rear defrost is what controls the defrost on the side mirrors. I am wondering about the accuracy of the temperature setting. Going to have to test as it does not feel right. Enjoying the safety features. The break warning is in your face with the red flashing. I also like receiving email alerts when she goes over the preset speed I have programmed for. I love being able to program the two remotes for two different people with their preferences on seat, music, temperature, speed warning, etc... The lighted welcome mat and folding mirrors are a nice touch. I cannot comment on the MPG as I came from a large SUV so the MPG on this is great to me. Mostly city/town with a bit of highway I am averaging 25.6 mpg. Not sure how much one would use the various drive modes. I made a conscious effort to use them but feel they are a bit of a gimmick. Over all, there is a lot to like/love with this vehicle and a few things to consider.
The not so good:
Something I did not pay attention to while test driving is I feel every gear shift. On the highway, I feel like I am gliding on air. However, city/town driving with stop and go traffic acceleration is flawed. When I first got the car with 46 miles on her I felt every shift and stutter when pulling out of a stop. She is improving as we are nearing the break-in mileage but still, for a luxury vehicle one would expect a smoother shift versus the gentle jerk. I tried the various drive modes and excite does shift smoother. I also feel like I can feel every bump in the road. Perhaps this is going from a large SUV with AWD to a smaller vehicle? In the cargo area if you fold the second row seats they do not go down all the way. I like being able to pull the second row seats forwards for a few extra inches of storage but Lincoln forgot to put a flap there to prevent the gap. Lincoln excelled in some areas with the little touches and failed in real world use/practicality.
What I HATE: For the life of me I cannot find a comfortable seat position. I am 4' 11" and by the time I get home from an hour drive my neck and shoulders ache. On the standard seats the lumbar support is a joke! You can only inflate or deflate; cannot adjust up or down. Also, the lumbar inflate/deflate requires you to push button on door then adjust on the entertainment screen. All of the video reviews has the 24-way adjustable seats, this should be standard instead of extra.Test drive did not really give me a feel for the seats as I was too busy feeling how she handled on the road and how she "feels" and the warranty, etc..You think the small discomfort can be adjusted at a later time, no it cannot. Or, it feels good now but later no. Really dislike the seats and head rest on this to the point I am considering trading it in if I cannot find a comfortable position. This is also why I would not immediately recommend this car unless you test drove it for a week or more. My commute is an hour each way and this is not acceptable for me.
Nit Picky: Applies to all vehicles. Why can they not design cup holders for the real world? My cup has a handle on it, which blocks the second cup holder from being used. In this vehicle the cup holders are super small and the second row cup holders are a joke and cheapen the vehicle. Even using a non-handled beverage cup the holders are small and not all beverages fit right. If there are two beverages attempting to access your beverage is tight and requires picking up from the top. How many times have we experienced a lid coming off from doing just that? The so called "drink holder" in the doors are not drink holders, those are storage bins in the doors. Bad marketing on Lincoln's part. Unless you have a water bottle with a screw on lid you will spill your beverage if you attempt to use the space. In the Durango, the door drink holder was a designated drink holder separate from the storage area.
Over all, if I could get comfortable with the seats the little things would not stick out as much and I could recommend this vehicle. I love it, even with the flaws, but the seats really are that bad.
