Overall good experience. I didn't anticipate buying the car on that day but the deal was great and ended up with a great warranty on top. I'd say the buying process was fluid and I was able to easily trade-in my old car which albeit wasn't in the best condition but I'd have like to have gotten more. Neither here nor there. Good people work here and I'm happy with my purchase but I will say that I would've liked a little less pressure. Classic salesperson approach it seemed and I supposed that's what get the deal.

I found a solid deal on their site for the exact car I was looking for, and was told it was "Shift Certified" by their 150 point in house inspection. Okay, so sounds like it's in great working shape. I drive an hour and a half to test drive the car, and the convertible top isn't working. I tell the salesman I would have bought the car on the spot, except a faulty convertible top could mean thousands in repairs. I tell them to please fix the convertible top and call me back as soon as its fixed. I don't get any calls. I call a few days later to check in, they say the techs are working on it. This morning, a few days later, I wake up and see a "sale pending" notification online for the car. I call Shift hoping it's some kind of mistake, and guess what... They fixed the convertible top yesterday, and never called me, emailed me, or texted me to let me know as I'd requested. And instead, they sold it to someone else. The hilarious thing? For all that F-, non personal, non thoughtful, dishonest service, they still charge a $1000 "dealer fee" with every sale – despite their 150 point inspection not being thorough enough to even catch a non working convertible top. Not only will I never be doing businesses with Shift again, but I will be warn every car buyer I know against them. If this is the future of car buying, the buyer is fully screwed.

So impressed. Karo my sales person knew more about the RAV4 I test drive with him than the Toyota sales guy did with the other car I drove - Karo is a Mercedes sales rep... When I decided to buy the car I called to from wrapping up another test drive. We did the deal on the phone. Karo sent me all the docs I needed right away, and arranged to come in on his day off to finalize the sale. When I was wrapping up the paperwork I was in before the finance team, so the finance director took car of me. As I was leaving, the manager asked if I had a good experience. The whole Calstar team is really excellent. I had people approach me to make sure I had what I needed (I was in the lounge waiting for paperwork) and each time I walked in someone would say “oh, I’ll get Karo”. I will check with Calstar first for all my future car needs.

I saw two Infiniti QX60's advertised for what I thought was a good price. After test driving I noticed an "add-on" called a "5 Year Vehicle Theft Replacement," for $1950. It is not optional. It was on all the cars I saw at this dealer and they will not remove it, you must buy it if you buy the car. They claim it's put on by the manufacturer (at least that's what the salesman told me) and they have no control over it. That makes no sense at all since the car was purchased as a previous rental from an auction. When I called and spoke to the manger regarding this unscrupulous tactic he defended it and said that it was perfectly legal. I mentioned I would be writing a review on Edmunds disclosing this tactic and he insisted they are doing nothing wrong. At any rate, I can't do business with a dealer that forces a $1950 add-on, so before you waste your time visiting this place check to see what mandatory "add-ons" you will be required to buy if you purchase a car from them.
