After going to their other dealership by mistake, a call was put into Fishers Imports Indianapolis at 5pm that we would be there in 20 minutes. They close at 6pm… They had the car waiting out front for us to test drive and evaluated our trade- in while we drove. The car was exactly what we were looking for. Chad never pressured us to rush through the buying process and as out of state buyers there were a few hoops to jump through. We were offered a good price for our trade-in. He stayed and helped my daughter move her items from the car we were trading in to the new car. When we were transferred to Nick in the finance department, we again received a no rush service. With the out of state licensing challenge, Nick patiently helped give us options of how best to handle them. After a challenging day for personal reasons, showing up last minute before they were to close on a Saturday night, these gentlemen gave us the best service in helping us obtain the car that needed to be done that day, because we learned you can’t buy cars on Sunday in Indiana and I would be flying home on Monday and would not have any other time to get a safer ride for my daughter while she is living in Indianapolis for school! This was done for a car that was not a high priced car, but they made us feel like we were buying the Lamborghini SUV!

Well, Im sad to say this dealership failed me yet again. The “Certified” Discovery was beautiful the day I picked it up. I did question how thorough it was certified as there was a pot pipe in the rear compartment. Classy. After one carwash several scratches appeared that weren't visible before. Im guessing they used black polish to hide the imperfections. I buffed and touched up what I could and just dealt with it. It is a used car afterall. Then the key fob stopped working, even after changing the battery. No worry- I had another one that worked. A few days later, the plastic casing that holds the driver's seat broke loose. I examined it and tried to secure it back in place when I found a bracket laying on the floor that had old glue on it - either the dealership or the previous owner tried to cover it up? Dealership didnt return my call for service so I drove up in person and Angie was happy to order the replacement, telling me it would be there the following week. (The following week I followed up and she said it would be the end of April.) While I was there I pointed out a molding on the roof was flipped up and not secured to the roof and she agreed to fix that as well- she said it was missing a bracket. Over the following weekend we had a 70 degree day and I waxed and detailed the car. I discovered the license plate frame was loose and one of the screws wasnt catching at all. A casing was missing for it and I have no idea how they got the screw to stay in place but there was a black substance on the screw itself- looked like caulk. And I discovered another trim piece on the front passenger side wheel well was also loose and sticking out. Now I was beginning to think I made a mistake. The following day it snowed and so I went through the carwash to get the grime off. Water streamed in on my left shoulder, coming from the door. This is when I was sure I had been sold a lemon! I emailed Angie since I now have her direct contact and she said the piece for my seat was in miraculously and that they'd fix the two trim pieces and the water leak. After only three weeks, I had SEVEN issues with this certified car that meant I paid full price for the asurance it was inspected top to bottom. I let Raina know I wanted out of it and that I liked the Volvo rental I was given. I proposed the dealership put me in a XC90 at the same price point as the Discovery. I asked that the $10,000 down payment I made in February be applied to this car. She was upbeat and agreed it was a bad situation- she said she "loved that car" for me and would talk to her boss and call me back in a couple hours. That was 11:18am Wednesday. Thursday at 4pm I reached out to her for an update since she didn't call me back and it appeared nothing had been done. I had to remind her if the situation- what was broken, that yes my car was in the shop now and yes I was in a Volvo rental. It was as if we had not talked the day before! I mentioned I could be available the following morning - today - to test drive and wanted to be sure my down payment would be applied to this car. She said she would talk to her boss when he was out of his meeting. He is apparently in a lot of those. For the next 24 hours she talked in circles and avoided answering my questions, saying only that she and her boss were working very hard on a fair deal. That fair deal was for me to pay full price for a cheaper car that gave me $75 higher monthly payments. I asked repeatedly for her to explain how that was a fair deal requiring any work on their behalf, but couldn't get an answer. I just wanted to feel good that this was indeed a fair deal they both worked hard on when it seemed they were just letting me buy another car at full price. I asked to lower the price of the car to give me the same monthly payment I currently have and was told no and no other offer was made but to put me in a similar XC90 with more than twice the miles on it. So now, Im starting the process with the Attorney General of Indiana to help them do the right thing. Total nightmare.
