Dismal highway fuel economy for a PHEV

2022 Kia Sorento Plug-In Hybrid
I love how the car looks, all the safety tech, and interior comforts.
Due to availability issues I bought the car out of state. I used cruise control in Eco mode the entire way home and even fully charged the battery at my hotel. During my trip, I averaged 29.1 mpg which was way less than I expected even without a charged battery. To make it all the more painful, my check engine light … came on just under 800 miles.
My suggestion would be to save yourself the money and just buy the normal hybrid.
