Great technology meets rugged reliability

2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L
I recently traded my 2023 Grand Cherokee L, V8, for a 2025 Lincoln Aviator Reserve - never regretted a purchase more.
I owned 6 Grand Cherokees, and currently have a Wrangler 4xe in addition to the Aviator. The Jeeps have always been rock solid and reliable. The GCL was the best. It handles all types of weather/road conditions, with the right tires, and provides better technology than … its competitors, regardless of what the reviews say.
I now appreciate how well thought out the technology is in a Jeep. The interface is logical and provides the information you need without distracting you from driving - I have not found others that can do this as well. It also has those extra features that seem superfluous until you need them: night vision becomes VERY important if you drive at night in areas with heavy deer populations, and the rearview mirror/camera display option is suddenly important when you load the car so that you cannot see out the back using the mirror. The Aviator offers neither of these at $15k higher price. The heads-up display provides much better navigation information than others, which is important when driving crowded city freeways on a road trip.
On the negative side, the V8 offered plenty of power, but at a cost of bad fuel economy, and it is no longer offered. The 6 cylinder engine lacks guts for driving through the mountains. The 4xe hybrid is great, but it is not offered on the L version (why?). We also found the seats to be very uncomfortable on long trips (even my base Wrangler is more comfortable).
Overall I believe the Jeep Grand Cherokee is the best value in the luxury SUV segment, and as soon as they offer a reasonable engine for the L version I am moving back to this car.
