There is a BIG Problem! It's happened 3 times.
Dead Palisade Hybrid, 02/19/2026
2026 Hyundai Palisade
Update: June 1st, 2026: This Palisade Hybrid has stranded us 3 times because it won't start. It's currently at the dealership for a third time because of this parasitic battery drain. Hyundai hasn't been able to identify the root cause. We've lost confidence that this vehicle can be reliable. We're going to explore the buy-back option with Hyundai. It's very unfortunate that such a … nice vehicle cannot start reliably.
We drove our vehicle home from the dealer after purchasing it and it stayed in the garage for a couple of weeks. The vehicle was then driven for a short errand and parked in the garage again for a week and a half. We then tried to start the vehicle and it was dead. It couldn't be jump started either. (161 miles) Hyundai had the vehicle towed back to the dealer where we purchased it. The 12V battery was replaced under warranty. I opened a case with Hyundai but they haven't been much help at all. The dealer has had the Palisade for a week. No loaner car provided.
Before buying one of these, get on Reddit and the various Hyundai Palisade Forums online and research these. This problem is happening to many owners. Some speculate that the battery drain is from the phone smart key feature or some other drain on the battery. We haven't been provided with a definite root cause. If this happens again, we'll escalate this with Hyundai. It's been a poor ownership experience so far.
