    Dealer Review:

During the sale, were were told by both Kathleen Conner (the sales lady) and the finance department that if there was anything wrong with the aesthetics or mechanical part of the vehicle, they would take care of it and make it new again. Kathleen seemed to only want to sell a vehicle and make her commission vice selling my wife and I a car that we needed. She also didn't like our 1 year old son and was disappointed that she had to sit in the back on the test drive with him. We needed a vehicle and purchased it in the end but it was a bad decision and my wife and I regret buying the Ford Explorer from her. My wife and I took the vehicle home already upset about the sales experience and how the sales lady treated our 1-year old son. After discovering scratches on the rims, paint, cigarette-burnt cup holder, and a hole in the ceiling liner, we came back to the dealership as we were directed by Kathleen to get it fixed. She then turned us away and told to make an appointment. I am in the Military and it takes an act of Congress to get time off. I took leave to get this taken care of so this was strike 2. Then when I finally came in to get it fixed, they told me that they were going to replace the ceiling liner which is expensive and a lengthy process but they knew a good place that would do the work just down the road of the dealership. A day later, I was called and they said the vehicle was fixed and ready for pick-up. I said that was fast but drove down once I got off work to pick it up. They gave me the vehicle and I drove it home. I inspected the vehicle to see if it was fixed properly and most of it was except for the head liner. They took the cheap way out and put super glue in to fill the hole. I texted Kathleen and said this was unacceptable and sent her a picture of it it and she replied it's not that bad. That was the Ford experience we received. Sub-par. I want to give the car back and put this bad memory behind us but Rob Slater says "Well, that's not going to happen". Who do I need to report this dealership to? During this whole process, Rob also said he would talk to the person who did the initial assessment of the vehicle and call me back on the same day or the next day. A week and a half later, he called me and stated he spoke with the owner and they would not be able to help me. This is a new car and I got the shaft with a trade-in plus they broke their promise essentially lying to me in order to sell a vehicle.

The little wagon that could!
Bill D,12/31/2017
I originally purchased this used 2009 HHR with 75,000 miles for it's cargo space. I love that the rear seats fold down flat and even with the cargo area. Plus the area is humongous! Since this is the 2LT model it does have a few extra bell & whistles. The remote start and heated leather seats are a nice option here in N.E. PA. I recently drove it for over 6 hours to visit my grand kids. I never once had to readjust the seat to get more comfortable during the long ride. The thought never even entered my mind. It was very windy during the trip and the wind noise at the driver's window was annoying. The ride was smooth and the gas miles was as expected. We had an ice storm and then snow on top of the ice. The HHR did not do well on hills under these conditions. In fact the ride was a little scary. I purchased snow tires for all four wheels. The next day we had more snow, welcome to N.E. PA. What a difference with the snow tires. I was able to keep up with the 4WD SUVs without feeling any lost of control. I have a steep driveway that I couldn't get up with the regular tires. With the snow tires there is no problem at all. The HHR does have two lower gears you can shift into if needed. However it would have been nice to have a slap shift with the automatic trans. It would have also been nice to have a couple of USB ports. I'll hve to get an adapter to fit in the useless cigarette lighter.
