A Great SUV EV at An Exceptional Value

2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV
This is my first EV and my first American car after 46 years of driving. Originally I was waiting to get the 2026 RAV4 hybrid, but one day I came across this great deal that I just couldn't pass. We got the base LT with comfort & active safety 2 package for $2K more with the MSRP totaled at $37,290, but we got it for $22,790 including $7500 tax credit & $7000 worth of a bunch of … discounts & incentives; that is cheaper than a gas economy car.
So far I am very happy with my purchase. I love the large screens that can display a lot of important info without switching views such as energy efficiency, Miles/KWH, sound infotainment these I have in the center console along with the power & speed meter, compass, time & temerature. For the large screen I have the tire pressure on the left & the map on the right. You can move around the icons and even put the favorite ones on the top menu for quick access and they are super responsive. Despite all of the criticism of the proprietary google system without the android or apple carplay, I think it's better, at least way better than my wife's 2024 Prius', and it's much more responsive without getting disconnected occasionally. On top of that, we got 8 years of free 5g high speed wife hotspot which makes a great mobile office mated to my phone & tablet or computer.
We have the FWD model, and the power is adequate especially when passing during the city driving. The ride and handling and power is good considering the size of this vehicle. I've driven 2000 miles so far and my overall efficiency is 4.3 miles/KWH which means I can go 365 miles from a full battery. I only drive 10K per year and I only charge to 65% and recharge @ 40% because AI said doing it this way my battery would last 15-20 years for this car.
I've gotten 3 updates over the air in 2 months and the car has been reliable so far.
CONS: poor front visibility, especially to the corners due to very large A pillars and a high hood & long dash board.
No auto power windows UP & remote control (you can remote control to lower the windows).
1 of the door handles is not completely flush when closed.
