2023 Chevrolet Bolt EUV
I have been planning to purchase an electric vehicle for several years. I purchased a Tesla Y last year and was immediately hooked on the pleasure of driving an electric vehicle. The instant acceleration, one pedal driving, autonomous features, and the avoidance of gas stations are all a real pleasure.
When we decided to replace our second car I was determined to find another EV. After … some research, I landed on the Chevy bolt EUV. I actually prefer it to the Tesla for trips around town for daily activities. Its smaller size is an advantage in negotiating, narrow streets, and crowded parking lots. It is surprisingly quick and nimble around town and comfortable enough on the highway. I actually prefer the infotainment system to the Tesla, largely because of the Apple CarPlay. There are some features like retractable sunroof, and ventilated seats that the Tesla lacks. The gear selector is somewhat annoying, the rear hatch is manual and there is no driver seat memory which is why I didn’t give it a five star rating.
It is not all wheel drive, certainly not an off-road vehicle, and does not charge particularly rapidly. It is probably not the best choice for road trips or long commutes, but for every day driving around town and shorter highway trips it’s fun to drive. Given its price point, it is a great choice for someone looking for a second car, or an affordable entry into the EV world.
