Fast and Fun, but surprisingly practical as well!

When you really want a Cayman as your daily driver, but have kids and need to fit them, their sports stuff, golf clubs, or suitcases in the car regularly, this car is just perfect! My last car was a 550i, and I thought it'd be similar with a little more space because of the liftback, but this S7 has a very different character. Much faster, and with a better steering feel than the BMW. … Of course, it's loaded with cool tech like all cars in the $100k range. Audi's navigation and safety aids are great, but I wouldn't plan on using the traffic jam assist too much...even at the "close" setting, cars will constantly cut between you and the car in front because it leaves a lot of space. The heads-up display is a must-have option for me, and is far better than the BMW's was (their new ones may be better now), but strangely, doesn't show blind spot traffic in the heads up display. This car feels legitimately fun, and I've taken it to the track a couple times to really wring it out...it certainly doesn't disappoint! The turbos kick in hard, between quattro AWD and excellent steering, getting a feel for the limits isn't difficult at all and I never felt on the edge. The seats (get the sport seats) are not just cool looking, they're very supportive in spirited driving, and comfortable for long drives. This car will eat up miles comfortably on road trips, and the sound system is excellent. Even the kids love it, with their own seat heaters and temperature control in back.
I compared the 650i, Panamera, and this...from my test drives and comparison, I liked the Panamera (after the re-design) best, but to equip it anywhere close to the S7 Prestige, you'd have to add another $25k or $30k in options to the Panamera 4S . The nickel-and-diming was too much for me. The 650i and S7 are more similar, but have a different feel...I had driven BMWs for a while and liked the additional speed and steering feel/feedback from the Audi, as well as the look, and the space from the liftback. The M6 tempted me, as the performance is ridiculous, but the tradeoffs in everyday drivability and conveniences (e.g., no sunroof) moved me back to the Audi. The M6 really compared more to the RS7 anyway...which is also, incredibly fun to drive. No regrets on selecting the S7 - I've had it for years now and still enjoy every drive!
