So my experience at Tom Boland Ford(Hannibal) was not as expected after hearing all of the good things about them making things right with customers and making sure they are taken care of in all aspects. I went to the dealership and was looking at a vehicle that I was interested in. I test drove the car and it seemed to be fine and rode like a dream. After talking to the salesman for approximately 2 hours on the price ($25.9K) and trying to get him down, he said there was no wiggle room because they were already below value. I specifically told him that I would pay the $25.9K if they covered all of the tax, title, and license. He looked at me with an unsure look, went and talked to someone about it, then came back and stated that they could do that. Keep in mind that it was my 2yr old and I at a dealership for about 4+ hours. All of you parents can only imagine how that went. I think I seen every square inch of the building and even cleaned up messes numerous time. I didn’t have time to sit down and read all the fine print for 20+ min. and I trusted the salesman based off of our agreement. When I got my loan papers in the mail, it was for $25.5K???? We agreed at $25.9K, not a penny more, and they were to cover tax, title, license, and I would still be at $25.9K. I also put $2.5K down so my loan should’ve been for $23.4K. I called the manager and he stated that there is nothing they can do about it. Couldn’t give me my $2.5K back, couldn’t redo the loan, couldn’t take the car back, or couldn’t even give me a warranty that I wanted that was $45 a month to put my mind at ease. Pretty much told me tough luck and that was it. Another thing that happened when I bought it and was driving it home, I hit the brakes pretty hard and it did a death shake which scared the hell out of me. I took it back and they said it had warped rotors. They replaced the rotors and the braking was fine. Now when going accelerating from 0-30, it shakes then comes out of it. I was told to bring it back again. I wouldn’t recommend this dealer to anyone! I have never bought a new vehicle for myself as long as I have been alive because of the fear of being ripped off and taken advantage of because I used to work at a dealership and now how the system works and have heard the horror stories about ripping people off. I am now living my worst fear. Tom Boland Ford employees, I hope you find it hard to sleep at night knowing how you do people and the reputation you’re ruining for yourselves.

It has been 1 week since we picked up our new truck and we love it! I normally do not reach out to dealerships after the purchase but we had so much fun going through the process that I had to send an email. I initially reached out online based on a truck that I had found. Chad Sigsworth (our salesman) immediately reached out and set up a time for us to come in. He answered all of our initial questions and we showed up the next day to see it in person and test drive it. From the start we told Chad exactly what we wanted in the truck and what we could afford/were willing to pay. He immediately said that he would work with us, that he was on our side and that he would do everything he could to make it happen-within reason. Chad did just that. He was a great sport to all of my questions (and I had many) and he had a great sense of humor through it all, which honestly made the entire transaction fun. I mean, who says that stuff. Buying a car is not usually "fun". Chad was honest, transparent and hard-working to make it all happen. We appreciated all of it! We will definitely recommend Chad (and Dave Sinclair) to anyone we know looking for a car because we know he will not disappoint. I do have to mention JR in finance as he was awesome as well. He worked with us and we were able to add a warranty to our financing while still keeping our payment affordable. We slept good that night after we left knowing that we got a great deal on the truck, great financing and that we will be taken care of if we need anything else going forward.

Everything was fine with Tony Cobbs until I closed the deal. After that he barely responded to anything I needed in regard to the vehicle like the title, which is very important. Prior to the closing of the sale he seemed to be open, upfront, and honest. Thereafter, he didn't respond. Not until I went to the Mangers. He told them I was basically lying about what he told me about the seat needing stitching and the mats. He told me that he would take care of that, but told them he didn’t say that. I don’t appreciate being called a liar and his lower class attitude of blaming the customer as well as him running me around. Customer, I like the car I purchased, but Tony Cobbs is lowering the dealerships standards with his shady practices.
