    Dealer Review:

    Horrible deceptive dealership. We learned the hard way to never do business with Demontrond on I45 in Houston. First off they charge $3000 for market adjustment. Don't believe anything the manager tells you. They will add an extra $2000 for everything from paying cash or not financing through them. We asked about the 1.9 financing that Kia advertised. Well that will cost you an extra $2000. They also charged for dealership installed items like glass itching that we did not agree to. They hide it in the consumer service. Which manager said was for dealer delivery prep. No mention of window etching. Your total might come out the same as when you signed the agreement and gave them your non-refundable deposit to buy the vehicle when it arrives but they change numbers around in the finance department. So we ended up paying $1000 for window etching that we specifically said we did not want. And if they tell you the car is in transit don't believe the arrival date they give you. Note the deposit is non refundable so you have to just wait for car to arrive. The car was to arrive on March 14 then 24 but didn't arrive till the 31st. Turns out it didn't ship till the 15th. Yes salesman slipped up on giving me that information. They will blame it on KIA and delivery service. Just beware! Please note it's not the KIA vehicle we purchased. The Soul is great. It's the dealership.

After the test drive I made a down payment and agreed to close the deal and take delivery in a week. I called the day before the week had lapsed (salesman was supposed to "call me") and the salesman said it was ready. I went to pick up the car and when the brought it out it was poorly detailed and no items were repaired. I addressed these items with the salesman and he took the vehicle back to the service area only to return with one item repaired and said parts where needed to complete the other items. He created a service order (I have a copy) for those items said he would submit it and gave me a contact in the service department and said they would "call me". After a week I called them. I was told they weren't aware of the service order and asked who my salesman was and they would "call me right back" After a day I called the service manager and was told to bring the car in they had received the parts. I took in the car and said I was here for my appointment to which the service man says "what appointment" He looks at the vehicle takes pictures of items to be repaired (which the salesman had already done when he submitted the service order) and says this one item costs $300 and will need management approval! He told me the service manager will order the parts and "call me" That call never came. I called the service manager and after 3 more "I'll call you" was told parts are ready. I bring the Vehicle back and they repair one item and said they ordered the wrong part (the part that was supposedly $300). Of course they said they'll order it and "call me" I tried to contact them several times only to get excuses and that they will "call me". The solution to the problem is that of company loyalty. If the sales and service really cared for their role in the organization they could do it by providing good customer service. Also proper training of the sales staff to understand the limitations of the service department and help them provide better customer service.

    Dealer Review:

    I visited the dealership to look at a vehicle listed as "coming soon" It was dirty (expected that) and was in need of few (4) items to be repaired which the salesman claimed would take care of when it was detailed. After the test drive I made a down payment and agreed to close the deal and take delivery in a week. I called the day before the week had lapsed (salesman was supposed to "call me") and the salesman said it was ready. I went to pick up the car and when the brought it out it was poorly detailed and no items were repaired. I addressed these items with the salesman and he took the vehicle back to the service area only to return with one item repaired and said parts where needed to complete the other items. He created a service order (I have a copy) for those items said he would submit it and gave me a contact in the service department and said they would "call me". After a week I called them. I was told they weren't aware of the service order and asked who my salesman was and they would "call me right back" After a day I called the service manager and was told to bring the car in they had received the parts. I took in the car and said I was here for my appointment to which the service man says "what appointment" He looks at the vehicle takes pictures of items to be repaired (which the salesman had already done when he submitted the service order) and says this one item costs $300 and will need management approval! He told me the service manager will order the parts and "call me" That call never came. I called the service manager and after 3 more "I'll call you" was told parts are ready. I bring the Vehicle back and they repair one item and said they ordered the wrong part (the part that was supposedly $300). Of course they said they'll order it and "call me" I tried to contact them several times only to get excuses and that they will "call me". The solution to the problem is that of company loyalty. If the sales and service really cared for their role in the organization they could do it by providing good customer service. Also proper training of the sales staff to understand the limitations of the service department and help them provide better customer service.

Best Value for Base Model Out in the Market

S 4Motion 4dr SUV AWD (2.0L 4cyl Turbo 6A)
This car is for my daughter for use at college and to get home on holidays. We checked out all the standard SUVs and test drove: Honda CRV, RAV4, Mazada CX-5, Hyundai Tucson, Mitsubishi Outlander Sport, and Kia Sportage. Our selection criteria was all wheel drive, good acceleration, elevated seating view, heated car seats and decent gas mileage. Each of the cars tested had it pro's and con's. We finally selected the 2017 Tiguan despite it's aged design; 2018 will have a major update. This review is based on the first two thousand miles. Pro's: all wheel drive, high quality leatherette, heated seats, XM radio, Apple Car Play, rain sensing wipers, acceleration (turbo), and lots of standard features in base model. Con's: uses premium fuel, gas mileage not as good as competitors, and limited cargo space (although decent with seats down). Sticker price was around $28K and you should easily get one for at least $3K off.
