Dealer Review:

Horrible experience. Strongly warn against trusting this company. I found a solid deal on their site for the exact car I was looking for, and was told it was "Shift Certified" by their 150 point in house inspection. Okay, so sounds like it's in great working shape. I drive an hour and a half to test drive the car, and the convertible top isn't working. I tell the salesman I would have bought the car on the spot, except a faulty convertible top could mean thousands in repairs. I tell them to please fix the convertible top and call me back as soon as its fixed. I don't get any calls. I call a few days later to check in, they say the techs are working on it. This morning, a few days later, I wake up and see a "sale pending" notification online for the car. I call Shift hoping it's some kind of mistake, and guess what... They fixed the convertible top yesterday, and never called me, emailed me, or texted me to let me know as I'd requested. And instead, they sold it to someone else. The hilarious thing? For all that F-, non personal, non thoughtful, dishonest service, they still charge a $1000 "dealer fee" with every sale – despite their 150 point inspection not being thorough enough to even catch a non working convertible top. Not only will I never be doing businesses with Shift again, but I will be warn every car buyer I know against them. If this is the future of car buying, the buyer is fully screwed.

I'm fuming right now. I called to make an appointment for a test drive at the Canoga Park Carmax. I gave them the car's stock number. They said to come in at 8PM for the test drive. Great! I get there at 8 on the dot, sign in... car doesn't seem to be ready. In fact, a salesperson doesn't see me until 8:30. We then take 15 minutes to process my insurance, copy my driver's license for the test drive, by now it's 8:45... and they say it's too late to do the test drive. Dude, I drove from West Hollywood for this friggin' test drive. 45 minutes there, 45 minutes at Carmax, and a 40 minute drive back... 2 HOURS AND 10 MINUTES of my life and I don't even get to drive the friggin' car?!? The manager said the only thing he could do is reschedule the test drive for the following day. I was on time. Why did I even bother scheduling a test drive? Sorry buddy, you lost a customer. Too bad, the car looked sweet too.

I traded in my Audi A8L and bought a used 2017 Lexus CT200h. First sign of bad faith was when they tried to charge $3000 for a warranty on a 2017 Lexus by trying to bury it in the monthly “payment”. After negotiating everything I gave they both key remotes for the Audi but when they delivered the Lexus they gave me only one key. They flat refused to provide a second key. Went back the next day to talk to sales manager. He couldn’t care less, once the sale is made they will not provide any reasonable requests, glad I found out before going for service, can’t imagine being treated fairly at this place. Buyer beware, shop elsewhere.
